Organizers say jet that crashed was to pick up ex-president

Former President George Bush has suspended a trip to Ecuador because the jet he was going to board -- crashed today in Houston.
A conference organizer confirms Bush has canceled his trip because the plane that should have flown the ex-president from Houston -- went down.
Three crewmembers died in the accident during foggy weather.
The private jet clipped a light pole and crashed near Hobby Airport.
Nobody on board survived.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Roland Herwig says the Gulfstream flight originated at Dallas Love Field.
The plane's registered owner is Jet Place of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The former U.S. president, who lives in Houston, was scheduled to take part in a business conference.

We don't need a week to figure out the radiation signature and we don't need outside smoke and mirrors at that point either. The very idea that this is being presented smacks of a set up being foisted as supposed prudence.

HOUSTON -- Former President George Bush has suspended a trip to Ecuador because the jet he was going to use crashed Monday morning in Houston.

President Bush spoke last week at the dedication of the Clinton Presidential Library.
Three crewmembers died in the accident during foggy weather.
The private jet clipped a light pole and crashed on the Beltway at Cullen near Hobby Airport.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Roland Herwig says the Gulfstream flight originated at Dallas Love Field.
The plane’s registered owner is Jet Place of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Former President Bush, who lives in Houston, was scheduled to take part in a business conference in Ecuador.
According to the former President's spokesman, he was on the way to Hobby Airport when he learned a plane had crashed. He didn't know the plane was his until he arrived.
President Bush had flown with the three crewmembers before and he released the following statement: "I am deeply saddened to learn of the plane crash this morning. I have flown with the crew before and knew them well. I join in sending my heartfelt condolences to each and every member of their families."
The FBI is sending an investigative team to Houston as a courtesy, but FBI spokesman Bob Doguim says there is no reason to believe foul play was involved in the crash.

One common theme that has quickly returned due to the war in Iraq is the depiction of the US, verbally and visually, as the cruel and inhuman enemy.
A cartoon in today's official PA daily, Al Hayat al Jadida, shows an American soldier raping a young girl, while the Arab world looks on with amusement and even offers support. The most recent Friday sermon on PATV depicts the US as the creator of international terror. In a third example, a vicious cartoons depicts US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice as the exterminator of Arabs.
Was the crew checked out? By whom? Was the crew that was supposed to fly the plane, really flying the plane? I would think that anyone entrusted to fly Bush 41 around would have Instrument and heavy weather experience.
Was this the crew skedded to fly the leg carrying Bush?
Picky questions, but obmvious ones to me in order to narrow the odds that it was/wasn't an accident.
I'd personally have to hope that we would wait a little while before retaliation if a nuke ever went off in an American city. I guess I fear the end results of us blanket nuking someone in revenge only to find out we should have done it to someone else. Of course, if a nuke did go off in a US city, the likely culprit would probably be quite apparent...
