Unfortunately, I think that this type of news may become more frequent; the closer we get to the elections in January. It seems that those who have the most to lose with a democratic Iraq, are working overtime to hinder the elections.
I agree with you V....our prayers are most definately needed at this time.....and in the coming weeks.
Thanks for the update.
In 1988, 270 people were killed when a terrorist bomb exploded aboard a Pam Am Boeing 747 over Lockerbie, Scotland, sending wreckage crashing to the ground.
Ten years ago: A firebomb exploded on a crowded New York City subway train, injuring 48 people. (Unemployed computer programmer Edward Leary was later convicted of attempted murder and sentenced to 94 years in prison.)
Five years ago: Amid heightened concerns about the possibility of a holiday terrorist attack, security was ordered tightened at American airports and the Pentagon said it was taking "appropriate action" to protect U.S. forces overseas.
A former co-worker of mine was killed on that flight - a gentle soul and a dry wit and a wonderful person. He should have lived longer.
Thanks for your threat matrix. Hope you are feeling better.
Merry Christmas to all!
Hard to believe that it was 16 years ago! At the time I was just 2 years out of college; and one of the students from Syracuse that was on that flight, was the brother of a friend from college. Sad for all of the families that the Christmas season would also be the reminder of such a tragic event.
Update
False Alarm at IRS Bldg. in Decatur
The report of a suspicious package being found at the Internal Revenue Service building in Decatur Tuesday morning turned out to be a false alarm.

Somehow, I missed this. Can you ping me to the links where all of this was discussed?
Ping to #3475 as requested. This is the first post by milkncookies. Other postings from GG follow in later posts by MnC. Enjoy.

Make sure you got the second set milkncookies also posted.
sushi lunch
Carl's Jr. Pastrami Sandwich is calling me
Been thinking about this, and Godzilla made a point I should have remembered about the difference between Hollywood full auto and the real world. But do you know how much 200 rds of 7.62x39 ammo will weigh? That's why the U.S. Infantry uses Load Bearing Equipment and ammo pouches to haul it around, surely a little obvious for Saturday night at the mall. I think that in some areas a shooting attack may be valid, but I'd be looking for the truck bomb as having more bang and blood for the buck.
Still, if they do start shooting, one can only hope and pray that the sheepdogs will be present to stop the wolves. If you like, I can repost the essay of Sheep, Sheepdogs and wolves. I hear the sushi calling....LUNCH!
I think so, just waiting on final grades. :) How have you been?
Anyone think there's any significance to W spending Christmas at Camp David rather than Crawford? I thought it a bit strange.
(P.S.) - Haven't posted here for months -- but continue to lurk faithfully. An illness in the family has kept me otherwise occupied.
Happy Holidays to all!

nwctwx....I hope all went well with your exams...I hope you have a Merry Christmas with your family and friends.
I found the above image on the noted military Blog...could we include it with our TM images? I am not sure if we need to ask permission...copyright, etc. I just found it to be one of those images that says it all.
10 boxes of ammo in 5 mags. Not very big and pretty easy to conceal within a bunch of "gifts" in a busy shopping mall. A cowboy boot box would handle 5 mags. A heavy coat could conceal the rifle...and in a cold area, the coat would never be questioned. It isn't like these guys are going to hump that ammo for 30 miles over rough terrain. A walk from the parking lot to the mall entrance is no big deal.
I hear the sushi calling....LUNCH!
I've not encountered any RUMINT regarding being at David vs. Crawford.
Well, I guess we found NEMO. (uuuurrrrrppph)
Funny when I first heard about "DeKalb"- Ga was my first instinct
