Don your tin foil hats. Last night was another "prediction" night for Art Bell. One caller predicted a concurrent attack against multiple U.S. cities by small squads with fully automatic weapons. That would be dirt simple to pull off. It would certainly terrorize the U.S. in a fashion beyond the D.C. sniper incident. If nothing else, it would be a spectacular diversion of attention to cover a bigger operation.
Thanks as always tmp02.
It'd only terrorize the liberal northeast and maybe California. It'd make all the rest of us plain mad.
Full auto? They sure won't hit too much. Wait until we start to return fire. In the south, that'll take about five seconds. I'm much more worried about the BIGGER OPERATION
I believe, if I recall correctly; the source on that is WorldNetDaily.com and it may be 2003 or 2004 article(s).
I thought about that scenario yesterday after watching the report on the 30 terrorists who opened fire on the election officials.
I think the question to start asking is: How much of this is convergence of data coming from different sources, and how much is coming from the same source through different channels? How far back beyond German Guy does the root information go?
If it passes that test, we have to look at the fact that there are some common elements: Mulitple attacks, the same cities mentioned, and the increase in "incidental activity" in those areas. Even if German Guy is disseminating false data, he may be providing cover for the people who are really planning something, or setting up our government and the Mossad as suspects simply by having mentioned them up front.
Full auto would hit plenty in a school yard or in the bleachers at a football game. Hosing down cars stuck in bumper to bumper rush hour traffic is also simple. Shopping malls will be jammed the day after Christmas and a few days after that. Lots of soft targets. The news media will be wetting themselves at the prospect of "wall to wall" coverage.
The people committing these acts would be jihadis. They expect to be engaged and killed.
Let us not disappoint them, then. (/safety)
Don't confuse 'full-auto' in the real world with 'full-auto' of the hollywood world. The only way they could 'hose down' anything is with a belt-fed machinegun. Most "assault weapons" that can fire full auto use magazines that carry 15 rounds or so and fired at full auto would be empty after a few seconds. Even Uzi's and the equivalent are only good at short ranges. Now think logistics, are they gonna be weighed down with dozens of magazines or risk a higher chance of being caught by trying to smuggle in an M60 or equivalent machine gun along with belt fed ammo.
I've been in real snow. That's why I moved back to Virginia.
All valid targets, certainly. At point blank range there will be lots of casualties from full auto in the first moments. But as soon as the sheep take cover and scatter the victims will be fewer and the dead Jihadis will start piling up....UNLESS it's done in the gunless northeastern BLUE states. Then it's open season on Americans.
I don't think the football game is going to be a gun target unless it's a local high school game which won't be very crowded and the NFL takes enough security to prevent full auto certainly....
Hosing down a traffic jam? Talk about road rage!
