Download a automatically-updating spreadsheet that keeps tabs on the totals as they come in and projects the final tally based on county-by-county numbers at my site:

My smarter brother designed it. Pretty cool. Wish I had thought of posting it a week ago...

Hey smart guy-- the "libertarian" in this race is a radical lesbian feminist who siphoned off way more votes from the dem than the repub.

Ruth Bennett is a libertarian who says she ran to take votes from the ultra liberal Christine Gregiore who is a female John Kerry clone.

thanks again to the Libertarians for really throwing this one They sure are good at that, aren't they? I'm waiting for when they officially merge with the Democratic Party.

thanks again to the Libertarians for really throwing this oneWhat do you think of Libertarian principles? Should the Republicans move in that direction?

Stay tuned. If the results are within 1000 (or 2000, I forget which) there will be a hand-recount. So this one won't be decided for a while.

Rossi is the Republican. Do we have to wait until he officially wins to complain that he is a RINO?

rossi's the good guy, right? Depends on who you talk to.....
Dino Rossi is the Republican candidate for Governor. He has a real estate background and what a leader in the budget compromise on the last two-year budget that resulted in no "major" tax increases during a large revenue shortfall.
Perhaps more importantly, he is the candidate for Governor, who said he would fire all State Department Heads, install new Executive Branch staff and give them 6 months to change Washington State to a business friendly state with less regulation, faster processing of business requests, an lower costs.
In the infinite wisdom of the State Voters, it is looking like the Governor with need to deal with a Democratic Party House and Senate that will be facing a 1.6 or 1.7 dollar two-year budget shortfall. The Governor in this state has the ability to do "line item vetos" so he (or she) really has the "last word" unless the veto is overrulled (which is very difficult.)
I think Dino is the good guy.
Many long time state employees are running scared and think that Dino Rossi (r) is a bad guy. Many special interest groups that expect huge dollar commitments from the state are afraid that Dino will demand significant budget cuts to balance the state budget and they view him as the bad guy.

"are these the final numbers?"
Today is supposed to be the final day of counting; the law requires the results be certified today. I think there are still a couple thousand votes to count. A recount is a certainty. The recount threshhold is something like 2,000 votes for this turnout.

First of all, Dino Rossi is not a RINO, but a very skillful man. By the way, every RINO is far and away better than a socialist thief like Gregoire.
