Fund for Marine shooter
Vanity | 11/17/2004 | Andyman

Posted on 11/17/2004 8:36:02 AM PST by Andyman

I'm wondering if a FReeper with some experience in the arena would like to set up a fund for the Marine who shot that wounded terrorist in the mosque. I get the feeling he is going to be railroaded and will need some help. Whether it be for lawyer's fees, support for his family, or simply just to show him that there are real Americans who support him, I'd like to contribute to such a fund. Suggestions?

No need. Nothing will happen to him.

Heard on Michael Savage radio show last night he is starting a fund today to hire a top notch conservative lawyer for the Marine. Said not to contribute until he had everything figured out.

I think you're jumping the gun. Let the investigation play itself out first, then make your decisions.

Should something happen, the best thing we could do is lobby hard for a presidential pardon.

I think a silver star would be appropriate.

Let's set up a fund to reward any marine that shoots a terrorist.

Michael Savage mentioned this last night on his radio talk show and says he is working on a fund to pay for a civilian legal team for the kid. He fully expects the Bush Administration to toss the kids to the wolves and I hate to say I agree with him.

He has not been charged. He will not be charged. He did nothing wrong and the military is hopefully just trying to find a politically correct way of saying so.

At this point he does not need a fund. He needs nothing more than to be released back to his unit so he can kill some more bad guys.

That's his job and from the film it appears that he is pretty darned good at it.

Semper fi.

The Marines should send embedded reporters to lead their patrols or act as point. If someone has to take a bullet - better they are a MSM stooge who hates American anyway.

Bush does not micro-manage the military. I thought that was what we considered a good trait in our President?

A talk show host in Pittsburgh had mentioned something too about helping if it should come down to it. This young soldier, from what I understand, lost buddies when they were booby-trapped under the same circumstances and he was shot in the face just a day or two earlier. I don't blame him for what he did. It was, to me, clearly a case of not taking any chances with the scumbags. It's kill or be killed. It's war.

I think under military justice a soldier gets an advocate paid by the government (and quite a good one); however, a fund may help this soldier's family, as he may not be getting paid during suspension.
