They are anxious to get out of the United States and shed their American work force.I am anxious for corporate leaders to move to the third world and live among those they exploit.

Pat has an uncanny ability to focus in on the exact problem and then draw absolutely wrong conclusions.

I would have thought that Pat would hail the decline in the strength of the dollar as it acts as a de facto tariff on foreign goods.

"will the dollars decline be gradual or will there be a run on the dollar, as with the Mexican peso?" I was going to say who wrote this? Oh my! I know Pat is better than this. If he wants to gripe on the international monetary policy, I'm with him. But the above statement is out of touch with reality.

We have been hearing about the imminent demise of the dollar for so long that I wonder these days about folks that predict it yet another time. It is inevitable that it will be finished some day. I suppose the theory is if you happen to be the last one to predict it, you will be hailed as some prescient being.
We can only hope Delay wins, because the ONLY thing standing between Democrats plus other liberals and new entitlements is the lack of money to print or give away.
As to the current weakness of the dollar, we have gone through that before. The antidote is growth without inflation and responsible spending at the public trough. We have just started to come out of a severe recession. I've noticed (surprise, surprise now that the election is over) several bits of good economic news. Since I haven't seen anything about the demise of European socialism, I s'pect we will begin to notice the dollar improving versus the euro to it's normal equilibrium.
