ACLU has also blatantly come out in support of dangerous pedophiles and has defended NAMBLA in a civil suit. ACLU have used extortion and endless lawsuits on small communities with limited funds. Now Rep. Hayworth (R Arizona) is asking Rumsfeld to defend Scouts.

"It's been DOD policy for 40 years not to sponsor any outside groups. I spent 20 years active duty and we all knew the rules of sponsorship of any outside non military group and it's a no no.

This doesn't mean Boyscouts cannot have meetings on base or that military personnel can't be part of the scouts. It simply means that no DOD organization can sponsor them just like they can't sponsor a wife's club or Squadron Officers Group.

If you don't know it the military can't even buy a retirement trophy or award for someone with Gov't funds. I've gone deep in to my checkbook many times coughing up the funds for retirements, going away gifts and the like. The commander handed them out at official functions but they we paid by private funds.

The civilians that never served like Farah, Savage etc. need to get smart on this issue before blasting Bush, Rumsfield etc. on a policy that's decades old."

So what you are saying is this does NOT mean that the BSA is automatically kicked off all DoD facilities worldwide? Merely that they cannot be officially sponsored. Let's all hope that the warning memo sent out systemwide was very clear in it's wording. I can just imagine skittish, PC base commanders overreacting spectacularly.

If what you are saying is true, this need be no more damaging than when the ACLU forced the Marine Corps to stop directly sponsoring the "Toys for Tots" campaign ten years ago. I believe the program was smoothly moved over to the Marine Corp League to administer and raise money for.

Count me in, its time to draw a line in the sand. PC and diversity are enemies of the USA, and the Boy Scouts are one of the most patriotic groups in support of the USA. The ACLU is fighting the legal fight to overthrow the USA and its ideals. And BTW, being offended is OK, they can live with it. No one is granted the right to be unoffended.

Did the ACLU say the Boy Scouts were a bad group? Or did they say that if the Boy Scouts, a good Christian group that teaches young men how to do many useful things, should not be sponsored by the government? The Boy Scouts are a good group. They are a Christian Group. If the Boy Scouts are tacitly supported by the government, then should a Muslim boy scout group be supported? How about an Atheist one? or a Jewish one? or a Hindu one? One is correct that the USA is about 85% Christian, but that could change. There are over 1 billion Muslims and over 1 billion atheists in the world. There is about 1 billion Hindus. Hey, some of them could move here and want to have a Muslim boy scout group at the local school. Would you like that? There already is large Muslim population here. Why wouldn't continue to grow? There is a lot of Hindus here. Why not a Hindu boy scout group at the local school?
