The photographer who took the picture of the Marine shooting the Iraqi in the Mosque has a belog. Follow the link above to his page. This will give you a better idea of what Kevin Sites is all about than the little you'll hear on TV. He's not an NBC employee, rather he owns his own company, Shoot FirstFilms located in Pismo Beach, Ca. and is working under contract for NBC.
He does have some good photos and there is a bio of this photo journalist.
No thanks. Let him get his 15 minutes another way, other than trashing our guys in harms way...
"Shoot First Films?" O, the irony....
Absolutely, these scum will do ANYTHING to try and subvert the mission and put our guys in harm's way. The bullet would have been better spent on him!
So clearly he understands the concept.
Let this disloyal piece of crap go travel embedded with al Qaeda or the terrorists of Iraq or Palestine...this is where his loyalty lies
Of course were he to ever report the truth about our enemies while embedding himself with them they would saw his yellow scrawny neck off
He is so worried about terrorists who swore they would not be taken alive ...who have no problem planting explosives on themselves and then detonating themselves when the Americans are near enough to kill...yet slanders the Marine who probably saved his life a dozen times already...
Yet pursue the story of the blonde woman the Marines found with her throat slashed (most likely raped by multiple terrorists first) then they cut her arms and legs off...probably while she was dying...they did this for sport...and then threw her body out into the street...as an object lesson to the Marines...
These commie anti American reporters looking to make their bones slandering and ruining the lives of our fighting men and women need to be gotten rid of...
Its matters not too me one jot or one tittle how it is done either....
This is the exact same crap they did to us in Vietnam
We protect them because they are too gutless to go out with the enemy on their patrols...
they enjoy our protection...
And then they slander us...and get famous back home with their leftist buddies...
All embedded journalists need to be removed. They are helping the enemy in a time of war. Not just this traitor but everyone of the mass media reporters. You see these pictures coming back of the enemy unloading on our troops, but yet our men get discharged for protecting themselves. Our country of pansy a$$
liberals need to grow some balls and act like it during a time of war.
Kevin Sites, by rushing to air with this without an investigation, trying to make a name for himself, has smeared the names of all our soldiers over there, and probably endangered their lives by enciting more hatred. Look, being accountable is one thing, but accusing the Marine of a war crime when it seems to me the Marine thought the man was (in his own words on the video!) "faking death" and therefore a possible threat, is absolutely atrocious.
Kevin Sites is a friggin' a$$hole.
I agree with your assessment of Kevin Sites.
You know, you've got a point.
Good post.
so let me understand this...after a year of watching beheadings on tv, watching your mates loose limbs and a fellow marine blown apart the previous day IN EXACTLY THE SAME SITUATION...this JOKER has a problem with a marine shooting a guy who just spent the previous horus sniping away and the prevous year killing marines..
okay is it just me that thinks...WHAT IS THE F PROBLEM HERE?
this is not toy soldiers here..they want to kill us, we want to kill them...who does it first..wins...im all for fairness in war BUT if you dont show any...dont expect any....
as my dad says
hey..what goes around comes around...
Does a guy like this proceed to go back out with the troops after something like this? I can't imagine it would be too healthy. Or maybe he's the safest man in Iraq afterward, I don't know.
I went to the site and agree there are some good photos and a great commentary on the Marines' advance into the city. I didn't sense any antagonism toward the Marines from Sites. I have read his blog on different occasions and it seemed supportive. I even thought he made a point to explain the context of the shooting on Hardball last night. Obviously, I am in the minority on this question.
He has probably had his back watched on many of these patrols by the same guy he seeks to hang. He needs to find himself in the alley without the comfort of his patrol and their firepower. See who starts calling for...our guys or the bad guys.
How come Chrissy Matthews and his ilk didn't question Kerry's shooting of a wounded VC like he went after this guy just looking out for his own.
I thought I heard that this marine had been wounded the previous day as well... I don't want to start any rumours though, I may not have heard that right.
Without a doubt!
What has happened to the military censoring released material. This guy is seditious, as are many of the embedded reporters. It's time to get them out and have military press conferences to detail the action. The reporters are costing the lives of American soldiers. They need to be gone.
Yeah, I never heard anyone accept the notion that shooting that kid might have been a war crime and I'd still like to see it investigated. Why is there no justice for these people?
I'm not even gonna question this soldier's decision. I agree with his action and if I was there now, you better believe I would gladly have him backing me up the very next day!
Update on what is being said on Cable news
During Imus, Sites was on MSNBC and was backing off big time.
He read a prepared statement saying, "troops have been professional," "the situation was very confusing" and "only the soldier knows if he felt threatened."
Sites looked very nervous...
Then at around 9:15 MSNBC just showed a more prepared report from Sites. In this report, he says few of the things he said in the earlier report during Imus. It is unclear which report is newer.
I wonder if MSNBC is suppressing what Sites said during Imus? The Imus report was much more emphatic...
Greg Palcott (sp) of Fox now weighed in around 9:00 AM:
Paraphrasing:
"I have seen our troops operating under the most difficult conditions imaginable. The life and death of war. I have seen our soldiers treat civilians and detainees with care. I have seen the treat the places of worship with as much care as possible.
My opinion, and it is an informed opinion, is that this was an isolated incident"
