I'm going to start with a communication of support of this young Marine, to the Commandant of the Marine Corps himself. Then, President Bush and my Senator/Congressman.They are going to hear from me and I have all friggin day to do it. I am so livid about this that words cannot describe. As a former Marine myself, this young "Leather" was doing what he was trained to do, adapting to unreasonable circumstances (enemy tricks) and he did exactly what I would have done and what has always been done with a fanatical enemy. If authorities hang this Marine out to dry, I will never stop raising hell and will become a point man for pulling these guys out of theater entirely...MSM is SICK. Other suggestions?

I called NBC DC and left my rebuke of NBC and Kevin Sites for giving aid and comfort to the enemy by continuing their anti-military, anti-American bias:

I called NBC NY and asked for the comment line, then said we could not watch nor give any credibility to NBC or Kevin Sites as they continue their irresponsible bias, having lost the election, now giving aid and comfort to the enemy:

Earlier today I called McCain's office, as I did both our senators', while Frist's remains busy.
Thanks for the ping and phone numbers...I'll follow your lead, and call tomorrow.
War is ugly. America needs to get used to it.
This young Marine has my utmost support.
Can I take you up on that bet? A dozen dollars to donuts?
Check the threads today....lots of DU types have been posting here to make FR look like a bunch of bloodthirsty looneys, evidently.
The marines are standing together on this one which pleases me and I pray that this falls in their favor.
Did you read in that article I posted that shitehead Sites is reporting:
Sites said three other insurgents wounded Friday in the mosque were also shot again Saturday by the Marines.
You don't shoot your enemy in the back.- Monday morning
quarterbacking is always 100% right on, though. - It
would be interesting to know why the other "insurgent" in
the room wasn't killed. Maybe it's alarming when an
"insurgent" is given an order to surrender and there's no
response. The Marine had already been shot in the face the
day before; his buddies blown up by an "insurgent" playing
possum on the floor. The fortunes of war are hard.
Again, when your enemy is retreating, you don't shoot him
in the back.
Mistake 1 was letting this a-hole come along. But, let's not get sidetracked.
Last year, our Commander-in-Chief allowed an infantry Colonel to be crucified for threatening a terrorist captive into revealing lifesaving information. Our boys have the right to expect to expect W to get on the horn and say:
"The buck stops here. This inquiry is over. End of story. No more reporters after Fallujah. God bless."
Given that reality, this young man will need legal counsel, unless we can find someone with military law experience to take the case pro bono. And I'm not talking about a uniformed area defense counsel, either. Most of them are too young/inexperienced for a case like this one. He needs a legal hired gun. Perhaps there are attorneys and bankers on FR who could help establish the fund, and identify potential legal counsel. Once you get it up/running, spread the word. That young Marine has a "corps" of supporters ready to help him win this battle. One more thing: I would not want to be KevinSites the next time he tags along with a Marine platoon...someone might forget to tell him to duck
Hey Kevin Sites! Now that your actions have made Marines hesitant to shoot, You go stand next to them when the terrorists come out waving a white flag with one hand behind their backs!
BUMP. Will call tomorrow AM.
Michael Savage is going to try and start a defense fund - he was livid tonight, as I am.
if this Marine is court marshalled, as far as I am concerned, I no longer support Bush's prosecution of this war.
I have sent email to my Congressman and Senators!
This is WAR! I am tired of the Liberal Media judging a solider from the comfort of their office cubes. Send them over to Iraq. Have one of his sons or daughters killed by these Terrorists.
THIS MARINE NEEDS OUR HELP!
WE CANNOT SIT AROUND AND LET THIS HAPPEN TO OUR TROOPS.
WE SUPPORT MUST SUPPORT OUR TROOPS AND SCREW THE LIBERAL PRESS.
Two things about the report you posted. The sentence you just pointed out to me: That Sites said they killed three more of the insurgents that were left there Friday. I wonder when that happened and where they were. The video showed them going into the mosque. I thought all of the men on floor were dead, or so the Marines thought, until the one moved that the Marine screamed moved, and then was shot.
That was one, where were the other alive ones, and did it happen right then, why no film?
Another thought: The woman that was complaining about seeing the pictures of all the bad stuff done in Abu Ghraib, yet "they are all free to run around" or something. It is a shame that Al-Jazeera (like our MSM) isn't as good at giving the other part of the story. Like the prison sentences that have been given out so far to some of the perpetrators at AB Prison.
The people of Iraq remind me of the Dems here, they just refuse to see things the way they are. They just come at life from a different direction.
I heard that the blond, female Polish captive in Iraq was killed. They gutted her and filled her body cavity with explosives. Perhaps this is the incident where 5 Marines were killed last week going to a booby trapped body. How did the MSM miss this but harp all over a young Marine, who'd been shot in the face earlier, for being cautious? Go figure but what else would you expect from NBC. That network seems to hate this country and want our boys to get killed and not the terrorists. Did you see Katie Couric wearing black the day Arafat was buried?
Thankfully, the President has advisors who understand public relations better than you do.
Can someone explain this to me...
If everyone is so proud of what this Marine did and thinks it was right, then why is everyone outraged that the video is being shown?
Are you afraid of the American people knowing what our military is facing and what it is doing? Are you hoping the civilian harness and reins will be slipped and we can have an unfettered military? Are you ashamed of what others might think?
Why don't people complain about other footage this reporter has sent back? Why aren't they complaining about the pro-military things he's done? If there's no shame in what this Marine did, then why is everyone claiming the reporter did something wrong by sending the video?
What separates this from other footage is that the Marine likely committed an atrocity -- shooting a prisoner for the crime of being wounded and still breathing (the cameraman can clearly be heard telling the troops that these are wounded prisoners). If there were nothing wrong, then there would be no outcry.
Yes, these enemy are scum. Yes, they have played dirty. But that doesn't mean we must lower ourselves to their level. And it doesn't mean we should close off knowledge to our citizens; it's all the more reason to know what's going on.
Perhaps the Marine believed there was an imminent threat from this wounded prisoner; perhaps ignoring the warnings of the cameraman (that these were already-captured wounded) was justified; perhaps leaving prisoners unpoliced (if they were) was reasonable; in other words, perhaps the shooting was justified. Regardless, there should be nothing to prevent the video from being seen...along with video showing the other horrors our troops face.
The best thing to do is to call NBC sales department, tell them you'll never watch their stupid news shows again and will campaign heartily with all your friends to convince anybody you know, including local advertisers on the local news shows that their programming is offensive and anti american. Local sales department I think are way more sensitive to sucharguments.
If you think what you are doing is "journalism", then you must have missed the demise of Peter Arnett.
You aren't worthy to breathe the same air as that Marine who probably saved your sorry butt.
