Who's the Liberal? (More 'Rat Lunacy, In Response To '04 Drubbing; Must See To Believe!)

Reader Alfred Fluehr sent us the flyer reproduced below. He writes:

First, there was the flyer from Tennessee Democrats that depicted Bush as a special Olympian. Mentally handicapped people probably aren't on the liberal list of those to be tolerant towards. Then there was the pamphlet which depicted whites using fire hoses on blacks. Obviously a ploy to stir racial hatred using images out of context that were forty years old. [Ed: Plus, the ones doing the spraying were all Democrats.] And now, we have this beauty of a flyer, posted around Penn State, depicting a boy jumping on a swastika. The clear implication being that anyone who voted for Bush is a Nazi. Even more surprising, this flyer is from Amnesty International. You always wonder why groups like Amnesty International always seem to hold War Criminal Tribunals for Bush, but somehow missed holding one for Kim Jong Il or Hussein.

This is the flyer:

Here is what is really striking to me about this: Amnesty International was once a great organization, notable for opposing tyranny of all stripes. Amnesty was founded by some Englishmen, as I recall, after they read a newspaper account of an incident in Spain. Some young Spaniards were drinking in a bar; at some point, they drank a toast to liberty. For that, they were arrested and jailed.

How far have we come from the days when liberals instinctively rallied to the cause of freedom? President Bush's policies have freed 50 million people. His grand aim is to liberate the Arab world, not only because freedom is desirable for its own sake--which it is, of course--but because he believes, we think correctly, that only by bringing liberty to that part of the world can we reverse the cancerous growth of terrorism.

Today, the liberals' response to the spread of freedom is one of sour disapproval. They attribute the liberation of 50 million to a weird "neocon" conspiracy. They call President Bush a "liar" when he speaks of his desire to help Arabs and Muslims realize their God-given right to be free.

Whatever happened to the left? When did it give up on the cause of freedom? I don't know. But the American left's abandonment of the cause of liberty is one of the saddest facts of modern history.

Human Rights? -- Bush Liberated Afghanistan and Iraq and brought human rights to millions of people.

Human Dignity? -- Bush wants an Ownership Society where people can stand on their own feet, without depending on hand-outs from the government in their old age.

Human life? -- Abortion, you nitwits!

Isn't that a Red Star on the boy's shirt? Is the implication that Red China could trounce the Nazis on the human rights issue?

"Whatever happened to the left?"

Simply put ... they became the beeding ground for every fringe group known and some we probably aren't even aware of.

From the Communist Party right down to vegetarians.

Read "1984". Then you'll know where the liberals are headed. "Big Brother" is closer to reality if the libs get their way.

The last time the Left was on anything resembling a war footing was WWII, as Hitler was a threat to their beloved Soviet Union.

More fitting and honest symbolism for them would be a stoned history professor stomping on Old Glory.

Man years ago, I joined Amnesty International... I think that it was because I saw Paul Simon's "Gracelands" tour, with Ladysmith Black Mombazo, Hugh Masakeela, and Miriam M'Keeba. I remember thinking just how wrong Apartheid was, and how wonderful the music was.

Once I joined, I expected to get a list of names of people who were "Prisoners of Concience," and the addresses of governments I could write. All I ever received were requests for donations. Even after I wrote to AI asking for names and situations, I received a letter telling me that I could help most by simply donating more money.

It sort of soured me on the organization.

They got the picture right at least. The COWBOY (Bush, Reagan) fan (signifying us Republicans, and conservative/right-thinking Democrats) is STOMPING on Nazism, just like we've done throughout history to Communism, despotism, etc.

Whatever happened to the left?

They became trapped in their own unwillingness to accept reality and give up their failed ideology.

I think Horowitz explains it best, but I will try to synopsise:

Marxism claimed to be scientific, and seemed reasonable when it said capitalist society would concentrate wealth in an ever smaller circle of hands until the workers revolted.

That never happened and had to be explained by a gradual widening of the gap between rich and poor, even if the poor did better in an absolute sense, resulting in a revolution.

That never happened, so a theory was devised where the rich nations got rich by stealing from the poor nations, so eventually the poor nations would revolt.

You can see how this gets further and further from reality as the leftists try to reconcile reality with a failed ideology. It gets us to where we are today, where the left supports fanatical Islamic fascists because they oppose the United States. This has to be the "Revolution" because the United States is rich and the Islamic countries are poor. Therefore the U.S. is evil and the terrorists are freedom fighters, a la Micheal Moore.

Yet the biggest fascists are the loono-lefties. Name any policy that they admire today and it's a pretty sure bet that it was on the list of the NSDAP in the 30s. Liberals in the US and Europe made apologies for Hitler in the 30s and the only conclusion I can draw is that the policies are similar: hatred of money and those who earn it; total government control over life and "business"; the ends justifies the means, you name it.

Undeniable truth of life:

Any organization that is not specifically Conservative or Libertarian will eventually be taken over by Liberals.

Was Apartheid really that bad? is what they have now better?

They took a thriving nation and destroyed it, before long they will slide into the same problems the Sudan has.

Yes, Apartheid really was that bad. That's sort of like saying, "was the Jim Crow south really that bad?"

Of course things are bad today, in a totally different way. It's because for all intents and purposes, the ANC was and is a communist organization. That's the main reason that things have fallen apart there. Not due to the abolition of apartheid.

That would be sort of like asking my late grandfather, "Was the rule of the Royal Family in Russia really so bad before the revolution? Look how bad things got afterwards!" Well, it was pretty damned bad before, as well as after, in some different, and some similar ways.

Dont blame it on Communism place the blame where it belongs on Mandella. Things could have been worked out a lot better than just turning South Africa over to a murderer.
