Well first off, I don't think anyone knows enough about Condi to say whether or not she is a paleoconservative or neoconservative.

Neocon is Buchananite slang for a conservative who happens to be a friend of Israel and who believes in promoting liberty everywhere. I just read Natan Scharansky's new book. It should be required reading in the Washington salons.

I despise this man.
He said that Bush is going to have a bigger fight in D.C. than he does in Iraq because he's getting rid of everybody except the neo-cons.
He makes me sick.

NeoCon = Pro-Israel or Jewish conservative. There's more to it than that, but that's what Buchanan means I think.
To: politicsfan
Condi's Jewish?
I'm in love...

Neo-Con is Liberal code word for Jew/Pro Israel...Notice they always say Pearl and Wolfowitz after they say Neo-Con...What do you expect from Pat?...A Liberal-con is someone that gets a pardon from Bill Clinton...
To: politicsfan
Being called a neocon by the likes of Buchanan is actually a compliment. Buchanan is a relic.

Buchanan has shown a lot of bad judgment in the last few decades. But if he's going to attack Ms. Rice, I think he'll be taking "bad judgment" into totally new depths.
To: politicsfan
I *think* the difference is that a neocon tends to believe in actively using US influence and military power to reshape the world and spread democracy. Other types of conservatives tend to be more isolationist. If someone knows better, please correct me.
The term neocon is used in the perjorative quite a bit.
