So from reading the Wikipedia definition, in the area of Foreign Policy the neocons are the good guys.........

............but let's keep the neocon's fingers out of the Budget and Social policy pies. Smaller government and dissolving entitlements seem to be the Paleocon creed.

So I must be a neocon on Foreign policy and a paleocon on domestic policy.

I was about to ask as loudly as I could

"WHAT THE PUNCTUATION IS A NEOCONSERVATIVE?"

I have seen the term used perjoritively used on FR but resented it because I always considered myself part of the Conservative wave inspired by George Gilder's "Wealth and Poverty" That saw the likes of Newt and Reagan come to the stage. The ideology back then was solidy limited government, Low taxes and a pull back from all the social engineering experiments. The neocons I knew were to the right of today's
"compassionate conservatives"/barf. The RNC today seems like Democrat Lite.
