[history]
I am being sued for something that happened at the December 2000 Freep of Joe Lieberman.
JimRob has allowed me to hold an internet fundraiser to help defray the costs of my lawyers fees.
I am broke and thousands of dollars in debt, and depending on how much I can collect here, I amnot sure if I can continue or work to sign a mutual release if offered.
Right now, we have ended the discovery phase, and are awaiting the deposition of the man who accused me of assaulting him that day.
That charge is a lie.
The following story below is my short account of what happened that day.

This man is trying to use the legal system to get tens of thousands of dollars from me that does not belong to him, and he is doing it by claiming I assaulted him, which I did not do at all. What kind of damages is this guy claiming? That you physically injured him? Emotional duress?

I'll send a check. I was at SF demonstrations with freepers in 2000 and these kind of things could have happened to any of us.

Apparently, that paragon of prudence and rectitude, Mr. DeStefano.
If only a few more crooked Con. pols were supporting him, then perhaps the media could preface any introduction with "The esteemed Rev...", like our friend Al Sharpton.
(Shaking head in disbelief.)

I've had to cut my FR donations to $5.00 a month (and even then the card is sometimes maxed out and the charge is declined!), but I will do my best to shake something loose for you, friend. This is a terrible injustice, and he deserves to be counter-sued.

If you don't mind, I'd prefer you NOT pray for me; I am not sure I'm comfortable with people who can't restrain themselves when a person is in trouble praying for me. You knew who posted this thread when you opened it; yet you still opened it and overrode your distate long enough to post a snotty reply. Spare me your type of religion. I couldn't agree more. Thanks for saying it......

Race ~~~ are you sure that you would have to pay taxes on any contributions you receive? Or could they be counted as "gifts"?
Since this whole procedure will probably be examined with a microscope, you certainly want to do everything by the book; but I would check that out carefully before claiming it as income.
Maybe someone with an accounting background can advise you on that.
