I am being sued for something that happened at the December 2000 Freep of Joe Lieberman.
JimRob has allowed me to hold an internet fundraiser to help defray the costs of my lawyers fees.
I am broke and thousands of dollars in debt, and depending on how much I can collect here, I amnot sure if I can continue or work to sign a mutual release if offered.
Right now, we have ended the discovery phase, and are awaiting the deposition of the man who accused me of assaulting him that day.
That charge is a lie.
The following story below is my short account of what happened that day.
Gosh, this sounds awful.
I'm sorry, Race, But I am a bit broke at the moment myself. But, as one CT Freeper to another, I will keep you in my prayers and I wish you the best.
That's what I was waiting for- freepers who names I respect giving direct testimony.I have not yet had the honor of FReeping with RaceBannon PERSONALLY...
...buy I sure do respect his taste in WOMEN. :o)From:

Last night, 3 Freepers from the NYC area met with Ann Coulter after her appearance on the Geraldo show, as advertised here on FR.
And a good short time was had by all!

Even with such photographic evidence, Race, are you saying that the court found for this guy????? Unbelievable.
Plus I notice that he is smiling. Funny he should be smiling if he is being choked. I would help but believe me, you don`t what to know the kind of debt I`m in. I wish I was $8000 in debt, but if I were you, I would act as my own attorney and sue him back, or depending where you live, you can go to your nearest law school and ask for volunteers to help you or give you advice. I personally would not spend one cent on a lawyer or on anything to fight a POS like that. The best revenge is to get him to spend the money, not you. The case seems cut and dry if you truly did not choke him. Just get witnesses, whatever photos you have, get as much evidence as you can, and present it like you are on the peoples court with Wapner, truly.
Bump.
Good idea to set up a defense fund. Also, the discovery phase lets one probe into the P who surely has skeletons in his closet.
Thank you for the ping.
Ping--FReeper being frivolously sued for a 2000 FReep of Joe Lieberman. You should check out the good "Reverend" that is suing him.
It hasn't gotten to court yet.
Cost Race a lot of money so far, anyway.
This is a link to paypal , it works now!

I'm happy to contribute.
Semper Fi and good luck!!!
We did answer that, I never heard of demur, but we did state that.
Also, we did file for summary judgement. I have a friend who is a lawyer in Ct, we spoke about cases like this and he agrees my lawyer is doing the right thing.
The summary judgement was based onthe testimony of a Freeper HARPSEAL, who is now deceased, he gave testimony early.
The judge ws amused at that testimony more than convinced, he almost came out and said, "Oh, Yeah? WELL, lets take this to a jury then!"
Prayers and money on the way.
Love ya', racie....will send money snailmail this week. Keep us posted....
I am truely blessed to see the friends I have here!
You know, all my bouncer days, I was never sued, I was never arrested for fights then, and here, at some political rally, I just tried to stop a man from assaulting someone based on his immediate actions, and he sues me???
Unreal!
Thanks & a BUMP!
He has not presented any medical bills or any list of injury.
When he jumped off the truck, he first froze for a second while the cops surroounded him, then started waving to the crowd, first with one hand, then the other, smiling all the time, almost laughing.
He was not hurt at all.
From the tax code...
If you gave any one person gifts valued at more than $11,000 in 2003, it is necessary to report the total gift to the Internal Revenue Service. You may even have to pay tax on the gift.
The person who received your gift does not have to report the gift to the IRS or pay either gift or income tax on its value.
You make a gift when you give property (including money), or the use or income from property, without expecting to receive something of equal value in return. If you sell something at less than its value or make an interest-free or reduced-interest loan, you may be making a gift.
For easy reference check...
IRS Publication 17, Your Federal Income Tax
IRS Publication 575, Pensions and Annuity Income
and
IRS Publication 590, Individual Retirement Arrangements (IRAs) for gifts to individuals.
