I am being sued for something that happened at the December 2000 Freep of Joe Lieberman.

JimRob has allowed me to hold an internet fundraiser to help defray the costs of my lawyers fees.

I am broke and thousands of dollars in debt, and depending on how much I can collect here, I amnot sure if I can continue or work to sign a mutual release if offered.

Right now, we have ended the discovery phase, and are awaiting the deposition of the man who accused me of assaulting him that day.

That charge is a lie.

The following story below is my short account of what happened that day.

When this guy jumped on the truck, he paused, seemed to have lost his balance, then immediately jumped off the truck.

I wondered what that was all about. The picture you see is what I initially thought it was allabout, just the set up for a newspaper or something.

But now I wonder, just why did he jump on the truck??

And that's why tort reform and sensible judges are high on Bush's agenda because frivolous lawsuits are so evil and destructive. You are forced to defend yourself, no matter how fantastic the claim .. anyone can sue for anything .. and anything can be twisted to look like the truth.

Freeper down, and being kicked in the teeth ping! One of our own, is being attacked in BS lawsuit, and needs all the help he can get. I don't know Race personally, I've even been ticked at a few of his comments, but he is one of our soldiers in defending freedom as a conservative. Even if it's only Five dollars, SEND IT, and take the blessing!

That this lawsuit developed legs is a travesty to begin with!

Actually, you can rest easy. After reading what was alleged to have occurred, I am pretty confident that no one would ever be financially ruined due to a matter such as this.

I agree that he should win this obviously frivolous suit but the legal fees and time lost can come close to ruining many people financially. I know something like this would flatten me right now, even if I did "win"

We don't have the extra money for that. But I do what I can for FR from my keyboard. I've emailed countless times when it was asked of us. I call politicans when it is asked for. I do what I can, it's not much, but it's all I can do from a financial standpoint.

That's why my help to Race will only be $10.00. It's all I can help him with. That and my prayers.

I don't know. Personally, I wouldn't pay anyone anything, or even retain an attorney, unless they made demands and could show damages, injuries, medical bills, cause, etc. Even then, if I felt I was in the right, I'd fight them tooth and nail. If he's alleging criminal assault, why didn't the LEOs on the scene make an arrest?
