I am being sued for something that happened at the December 2000 Freep of Joe Lieberman.
JimRob has allowed me to hold an internet fundraiser to help defray the costs of my lawyers fees.
I am broke and thousands of dollars in debt, and depending on how much I can collect here, I amnot sure if I can continue or work to sign a mutual release if offered.
Right now, we have ended the discovery phase, and are awaiting the deposition of the man who accused me of assaulting him that day.
That charge is a lie.
The following story below is my short account of what happened that day.
Just sent a small donation via paypal. I wish you luck with this case.
I can confidently promise I wont use it to buy a plane ticket or something! :)

I remember reading about this way back when on this site.
How absurd that it costs you money to defend yourself from the instigator's lawsuit, especially since the police escorted him away.
I remember that rally and you helping out at the Ball in Jan '01.
We're all behind you on this.

I went back through our old posts just to learn a little more about you, and I will say you certainly seem like a stand up guy!
Race...I will be sending more as I can, and I just want you to know, I hope the amount you receive in this fundraiser far exceeds the cost of your Lawyer.
I cannot speak for all FReepers, especially since I am a newbie, but please use whatever is left toward paying your bills and taking care of yourself and your family. Times are tough for everyone, but it sounds extremely difficult for you. I think most of us would agree you need a leg-up at the moment and we honored to do whatever we can.
I know how depressing Christmas can be when there are these types of financial difficulties, so if you have any little critters in your home, please let us know, so that we can start a "present tree" as well.
And may I add, Republicans are far more charitable than we are ever given credit for!!!

I have been stuck in the temp job cycle for years, still in it, unemployed now, just got back from unemployment today looking for work there and here...
God is faithful. He has provided, and He will provide, I just want to do right by all of you who are sticking out your necks for me right now!

If this is not too personal - what type of work are you looking for?
Associate degreed engineer, Mechanical, Machine Design, mostly CAD work, some project engineering work
did machine operation and repair/test rigs for 11 years, 15 total in machine repair/rebuild
10 in engineering
That would be most appropriate. Maybe some pictures or video from the event along with credible witnesses can make that happen.
I just signed a lease, so, I cant relocate yet until Sep
I might be on an oil rig in Jan, early Feb, somewhere in the Arabian Sea doing CAD onsite, that promises to make a bundle for a 6 week stretch.

Oops, not my field. Although, with you being in CT, it really wouldn't matter if I did know of jobs in your field seeing as how I'm in South Dakota. I administer networks for work sites all over the country, so I can sometimes point people to potentially hiring companies, in which I sometimes sub-contract work, in the IT field, but we only have two sites in all of New England.
One dollar seems about as insignificant as one vote. Yet look at what happens when people of conviction makes that "one dollar"/one vote count!
