Hillary Clinton's Image Softens, Moves To Center

WASHINGTON - Recent polls show the public's image of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., gradually morphing from sharply controversial First Lady to centrist constituent-minded senator. Although still a polarizing figure, the first-term lawmaker could use the makeover to position herself for a White House run in 2008.

Political strategists say Clinton has impressed Senate colleagues and constituents by working methodically on New York issues while taking moderate or conservative stances on controversies such as the war in Iraq.

"A majority feel positive toward her," said Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist Institute for Public Opinion in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. "She's being seen as being more effective and sticking to her job. She's managed to shape her role in a way that's more acceptable. She's in a transition."

Hillary is a socialist, that's for sure. She certainly learned what she needed to know from Saul Alinsky.

*checks calendar*

Wow, and not even two weeks since the election. Amazing!

And yet, nauseating as well, since apparently this is all we'll be hearing for the next four years.

I just hope and pray that more homes get Internet access between now and then.

If the Democrats are still as angry as they were this year they will nominate whoever they believe has the best chance of winning regardless of his political philosophy.

I believe that will be Bill Richardson because he has the best chance of taking back the Hispanic vote without which the Democrat candidate cannot win.

Hillary just doesn't seem to have much appeal to macho men and religious women in the Hispanic community.

"Has she taken up trap shooting or duck hunting yet?"

LOL!

Well, she grew up in the Chicago suburbs but was a longtime Yankees fan.

So it only makes sense that (as we might see in a news article a couple of years from now) she spent many a happy November weekend going deer hunting. ;)

She'll run with W Clark.

He has already gone on record suggesting lukewarm support regarding both the pro life & defense of marriage issues. Who knew? Are they counting on carrying AK?

One of her surrogates said they were confident about overcoming Rudi's popularity. Not sure why. I think she is most concerned about C Rice. My personal favorite :)

But I don't think her supporters have a clear grasp on her vulnerabilities. And when the truth is shined on her deceptive ways, she becomes unraveled. Remember when Rumsfeld nailed her at the 911 commission re: classified information? She was exposed.

I expect many opportunities are available for our side to expose her corruption in all its' glory. And on the world stage at that.

Run, Hillary Run.

What is significant about Hillary is not her speeches and interviews in this country, but her speeches and interviews especially in Europe.

Those Euro interviews advocate the same kind of Internationalism John Kerry advocated, and they take a much more socialistic tone. But Hillary is smart enough to not give those kinds of speeches here.
