Cheney rushed to hospital
Bush could select a replacement before the Electoral College met, but it's not quite that simple. The laws regarding electors vary state by state. Some states bind their electors to the party, which is the easiest answerthose electors would vote for Bush's selection. Some states bind their electors to the candidates, however, which means those votes would go for Cheney and be discarded. Other states allow electors to "vote their consciences," and there's no telling who those people would vote for. Some crackpot electors mgiht even switch their Bush votes to Kerry instead based on all thisthere's apparently already one faithless Bush elector in West Virginia.
Let's hope and pray Cheney recovers and none of this will be necessary.
FoxNews just had an update, that Cheney is walking around to the tests.
It doesn't even faze me anymore. Not after I saw what heartless, Godless animals the DUpes truly are, after Ronald Reagan passed away:

I want to do 2001 over, with improvements:)
It was a long, tough campaign, months of it, full of invective and vicious sniping. It would take a toll on the healthiest of us. Let's hope and pray our favorite VP is okay.
You can easily tell the difference between people with class and gutter scum.
I hope the sensible DUers take a long hard look at their beloved forum and at least find themselves an alternative outlet. If freerepublic were like the DU I certainly wouldn't be here.
oh snugs I hope that he is ok. I just heard the news (Sunday morning here in Oz). For what I heard on the radio he decided to get to the hospital just to be sure it was nothing serious. Please let this be true!
i have been sitting vigil ever since i saw this thread!~
God bless you.
Condi Rice..vs...Hillary 2008?...Now that would be interesting!...........
Can someone please explain to me why these subhumans want to rule a country they hate?
When did you have your transplant? My brother-in-law had his in late 1995. We are enternally grateful to the family who donated his heart, and we are joyful with every additional day of life he's had.
Please No DU links
I wonder, because Vice President Cheney has had a cold, if he's strained muscles in his chest--or even popped some rib cartilage--from coughing.
Don't worry, you won't get one from me. I can't seem to get it right.
Let's not give them hits, ok?
From what I've read and heard it sounds like an abundance of caution is being employed, (rightfully so) and initial tests are not showing cardiac related problems. Might be viral-related which isn't anything to sneeze at (pardon the pun) in 60+ year olds with cardiac histories. Keeping fingers crossed
