cant vote
I am not surprised at all..... most Americans and those visiting this great nation take a hell-of-a-lot for granted.
Since Mr. Gun is a veteran, I made sure to thank him this morning.....so to speak.....and with all due respect, of course.....
it wouldnt let me vote....but I'd still say "No" .. as long as there are lying, coward, liberal, demoncraps ALIVE in this country, Vets will never get the respect they deserve..
I hope to see President Bush do more for them, especially when they return if they have injuries etc... some of the things I've read about them not getting the support needed during that hard time, worrys me.....I hope we wont have to hear bad things like that, and that President Bush will honor all americans by making sure of it...
This is a big country. It all depends on where you're at and who you're with.

Enough respect? Not in the BLUE STATES.....
I'm not sure 2% => 20 votes
2% of these voters are so self absorbed they dont even know what a Vet is.
No, they are not as long as public figures like Kerry are chosen as the candidate of choice by major political parties.
Vets never will be respected until it is a requirement that Form 180 be signed by EVERY candidate for public office.
Then and only then will you find candidates that are proud of their service and then and only then will this nation be willing to recognize the sacrifices made by past and present members of the military.
I cannot believe the liberal whiners concerning the situation in Iraq and Afghanistan. A total of 10 million people died in WWI and over 30 million perished in WWII. Not sure of the total for Korea, but I will always remember the 58,000+ service men and women that paid the ultimate price in Nam.
War is the most senseless horror that man will thrust upon his fellow man, however, there are times because of greed, evil, and basic human nature that we, as Americans, have to stand up to be counted and to serve with respect, honor and dignity.
May God Bless all those who have fallen to protect the USA.
Yup......
Thanks for taking the time to read it and Happy Veterans Day.
oh I agree....its ALL of our responsibility to see they get the things they need/deserve when they return from war... I dont understand how come they DONT already get all these things... and why President Bush isnt making sure of it...I hope he will now... maybe we here on FR ought to make it a once a month "thing" to send emails to all our Reps saying we want them to make SURE Veterans get all the help they need....if someone would be in charge of that "idea" .. I'd certainly email mine once a month... I will anyways
Give Mr. Gun a salute from me. I'd appreciate that, sincerely.....then tell him where it came from and I said 'thank you'.... if you don't mind.
Just remember, Mr. Gun may be a vet, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he out ranks you, does it? :>)
I agree with you.....it is very sad how our government always makes sure we have the best hardware to fight a military battle, but it just doesn't seem to have enough compassion and $$ to take care of those permanently handicapped (physically as well as emotionally) from the throes of battle. Kinda screwy thinking from my point of view....are we just protecting and caring for a select few in this nation?
FYI: I'm an army brat too....dude that is.....born in 'K - town' (Kaiserslautern, W. Germany). Dad was in the 82nd....WWII and Korea....then retired in '68 as an E-9....took Paps about 7 years after that to realize the family wasn't his battalion....LOL. A fine soldier and good father....I miss him.
