Even the kids get it: Got Postage? Students Need it For Soldier Packages

Through this project, even those without relatives overseas have their concerns. Brianna chimes back in, "We have three or four that are actually in Fallujah, so I'm really worried about them." She adds, "But I think they're gonna make it through okay."

The kids will forego their Christmas gift exchange this year to give to someone else because they say, "The soldiers should have more than we should have, 'cause they're fighting for us."

That's a present money can't buy.

So it sounds like we were probably right - it's just a bunch of terrorists playing dress up?

There are no ING forces in Fallujah. There are special forces and regular army forces in Fallujah."

"it's just a bunch of terrorists playing dress up?"

That is the most likely explanation.

What I did was use SnagIt and save the video/audio into an AVI file. It turned out about 21 megs.

Listening to a replay of Cpan..say there are a lot of cell phone calls going on in Mosul and rumors of a big uprising..Most of Saddam's Generals came from the Sunni half...half Kurdish, half Sunni.Trying to regain power they have lost..Allawi is from Mosul so that may help.

I read Iraq is 20% Sunni. Its seems they cause most of the problems and will have to get with the program one way or the other.

Population of Mosul: 1,840,000.

Lets hope Allawi has strong support there.

Last July the governor of Mosul was assassinated. I dont know how good his replacement is.

Rubin has travelled in the region..told the story of handing his cellphone to a woman who had not spoken to her daughter in America for 20 years for fear Saddam would find out..

He said you have to understand what lack of freedom means.

U.S. Marines called in an airstrike, and an F-18 dropped a 500-pound bomb on the mosque, destroying both minarets.

A good start...

I'm glad you do these threads. I'm sick of hearing about some dead camel-humping terrorist or which jury member got canned. We have guys out fighting. Killing terrorists.

THAT'S the only newsworthy thing right now, imho.

Agreed. Ive tried to get a break on some lighter stories but it just doesnt interest me now. This is life and death with Americans in harms way. An important battle in Iraq and on the WOT. All else pales.

"The raiding party wants us to scan across the river," Cpl. Robert Daniels said, reading a chat-room message that had popped up on his computer monitor. "Someone's firing."

"Take us east," Neumann said over his shoulder. "Shift from white-hot to black-hot."

Behind him, the pilot of the UAV adjusted the flight path as his partner tightened the zoom on the plane's camera. The images on the screen jumped slightly and focused on two black spots hopping from place to place behind an earthen berm.

"I confirm weapons," said Sg. Jenifer Forman, an imagery analyst. "Watch their right arms when they run. They're shooting across the river."

When the black spots bobbed together, the screen suddenly bloomed white, then settled back into focus, showing a thick gray cloud and a scattering of small black spots, like someone in the cloud had thrown out a handful of rocks.

"Tank gun got them," Neumann said. "Picked them up on their thermals. They're scratched. Scan up the street."

ummmmm.... is it just me or does something appear to be 'funny' about this 'hostage'..?

I am wondering if he is a trojan horse- he does not seem to be grateful to be saved, in another picture he is sitting alone looking very sullen...

Im still getting caught up. So we freed 4 hostages, 3 American contractors and an Iraqi taxi driver.

2 Copters were shot down but crew not injured. 600+ terrorists killed. Car bomb in Bahgdad kills 17+. Car bomb misses Tikrit gov injures others. We launched a counter offensive in Mosul.

USMC says 108 hr plan for Fallujah on schedule. 18 Americans and 5 Iraqis have died in there. (God bless their families)

If I missed something you know of please fill me in.
