PARIS - BULLETIN: Al-Jazeera television and The Associated Press are reporting that Yasser Arafat is dead.
Earlier, as a top Islamic cleric read passages from the Quran at Yasser Arafat's hospital bedside Wednesday, a Palestinian official gave the bleakest assessment yet of the leader’s condition, saying he is suffering from kidney and liver failure and that his brain is only partially functioning.

Gee, the Palestinians are following their interim Constitution. Some guy named Patooey (phonetic spelling) will take over as interim prime minister for 60 days and then they will hold elections. November 11, 2004 + 60 days = January 10, 2005. Isn't that the same day there will be elections in Iraq?

This is a historical event we ALL should celebrate. Fellow FReepers, please write to the Jerusalem Post & other Israeli newspapers, telling them they should be in much more of a celebratory mood than we are in the US, because of how he has terrorized their people for decades.
