Secession, which didn't work very well when it was tried once before, is suddenly red hot in the blue states. In certain precincts, anyway. One popular map circulating on the Internet shows the 19 blue states won by Sen. John Kerry -- Washington, Oregon, California, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Maryland and the Northeastern states -- conjoined with Canada to form the "United States of Canada." The 31 red states carried by Mr. Bush are depicted as a separate nation dubbed "Jesusland."

>Kerry won cities, not states
Remember the movie "Escape From New York" and the sequel "Escape From L.A."
The big cities were turned into compounds. All the criminals were dumped in there. Then they were surrounded by security fences so nobody could leave. Within the compound they had "self rule". Of course it was little more than survival of the fittest and the most brutal, but hey, if that is what the liberals really want, who would we be to object...
I must correct myself. It appears that Utah and Oklahoma are also states that have NO blue counties. Hopefully Nebrasaka will be "redder" than Oklahoma this Saturday, but it ain't looking good. I think our Huskers might come away with a "redder" backside.
i fear OU is headed for #1 & my beloved UT will NOT find herself in a major bowlgame.

Blue states are really blue cities. If you combine data on voter preference by income level (from exit poll data) and percent of taxes paid by income level (income, payroll, and excise taxes from IRS data), you find that Bush voters pay 57% of the taxes and Kerry voters pay 42% of the taxes.
% of taxes paid
Under $15,000 - 1.2%
$15,000-$29,999 - 4.3%
$30,000-$49,999 - 11.0%
$50,000-$74,999 - 14.6%
$75,000-$99,999 - 13.9%
$100,000-$199,999 - 23.3%
$200,000 or more - 31.7%
% voting for Bush
Under $15,000 - 36%
$15,000-$29,999 - 42%
$30,000-$49,999 - 49%
$50,000-$74,999 - 56%
$75,000-$99,999 - 55%
$100,000-$199,999 - 57%
$200,000 or more - 63%
For each income level, multiplying (% of taxes paid) X (% voting for Bush), gives you
% of taxes paid by Bush voters
Under $15,000 - 0.4%
$15,000-$29,999 - 1.8%
$30,000-$49,999 - 5.4%
$50,000-$74,999 - 8.2%
$75,000-$99,999 - 7.6%
$100,000-$199,999 - 13.3%
$200,000 or more - 20.0%
For a total of 57% of taxes paid by Bush voters. You can do the same exercise for Kerry and see that he gets 42%.

So what are we going to do about the counties in blue states that want to secede from the oppressive blue states they belong to? Case in point: Erie County in New York.
New York is losing thousands of people each month. Just about everyone has a 5 year plan: to get out!
You win today's prize for responding to an old thread. Did you just find out that Kerry lost, too?
I had no idea we could not post to older threads. Is that a rule here or just something you made up of whole cloth?
In any case, go bother somebody else.
Liberals can't wipe their butt right, their only hope is to parasite the United States as long as the RINOs allow them to.. Succession is a wet dream of a poodle..
Never said it was a rule, Have a good day.
Thanks for the funny reminder! :) What an election, eh? :) God Bless America!
It has been a dream of long standing that NYC would secede from NY state........... ;)
I'd like to see Detroit go to Canada.....
I am a night owl tonight. I am on call.
