More like "Slow Train Coming"
I was there last summer and my hostess related some of the problems they were having. They want immigrants to asimilate and speak Dutch. In a cruel irony, they consider that they are following our example in this. They were trying to address wife abuse and make rules about head scarfs. In my opinion they had their eyes wider open than we do with an official politically correct policy that Islam is supposed to be a religion of peace.
The question so many people, and nations, of the civilized world are still avoiding is, "How far are we willing to go?" Very few seem to want to think about this.
What happens if there is another 911 and we nuke Mecca and Medina? What happens if that isn't enough and they still come at us?
Do we surrender?
In the end it will be the call of Islam as to how far we have to go. If they don't stop, we may have to exterminate every last one of them.
Harsh words, but their call.
Europeans need to rise to the occasion as they did in 732 AD or we'll lose part of Western culture.
Interesting - I didn't make the connection the article did, even though it was right there in front of me. An ancestor of a famous, beloved Dutchman murdered while riding a national symbol.
The thing for the Western countries to do is say, thanks but no thanks, you diaper heads, we'll wash our own dishes, blow our own leaves, drive our own taxis. You go back to where you came from. Unfortunately, this is not going to happen. The Consttutional structures of the Western democracies are incapable of dealing with gradual deterioration of the culture and politics, are incapable of drastic measures when drastic measures are required.
How soon we forget.
Less then 60 years ago 'western culture' rose up to defeat the forces of Axis Fascism all over the world.
We are capable of dealing with these islamic clowns. Bet on it.
Every country needs a military coup every once in a while, the kind that South American countries used to have before they too went soft and apologetic for the superiority of their Western Christian civilization. There are millions of these vermin in Western Europe, many of them born and raised there, what are you going to do? We're watching a train going full speed towards a flooded bridge.
The muslim fundamentalists have no idea of the train wreck about to befall them if they continue. Get a grip on your pessimism.
It's 54-40 or Fight time in the Netherlands. May God save them.
Many amazing similarities in the Dylan lyrics and the Japanese book. I'm going to check the very active Dylan newsgroup for any hits.
I've tried to locate the book without much luck.
Every country needs a military coup every once in a while? This sounds like the talk of someone who has never lived through one!
It also made me think back to the Hueguenots (Protestants) who were being persecuted in the 1600's and could find refuge in only two places: Holland and America.
Many of the French Hueguenots went first to Holland, then came here. In Boston, descendants of the Hueguenots included Paul Revere, Peter Fanueil, the Bowdoins, and on and on. Basically the founders of Boston.
The Dutch Hueguenots who followed could be considered the founders of New York.
The point is that America's earliest history (1650 to 1776) was greatly influenced by the Dutch, and if not for their tradition of tolerance, many of America's founding families would never have made it here in the first place.
Of course Dutch tolerance is lost on the great majority of their Muslim population.
I think Colin Powell will get a more receptive welcome in the EU after this. I wonder how all the America bashers in the EU feel about us now ?
Been through three. You?
Sorry folks but Holland had to be liberated from the Nazi...along with the rest of Europe. I'm not particularly in the liberate the ungrateful mode right now.
I've been saying that for a long time. Time to cull the herd of the fanatic-gene.
Really? Which ones? I'd actually like to hear about them! (of course, I haven't been through any, and sincerely hope it stays that way!)
