Don't be nonsensical. There are better ways to make your argument.

"I, from my point of view, think is immoral,"

He's not alone in thinking that BCPs are immoral.

In all honesty, is there any immoral act where you think you would be within your rights to consciously interfere with another human being whose actions have nothing to do with you?

Didn't think so. Therefore, it's no wonder why you can't, or will ever, understand this guy.

You argue a secular humanist philosophy....I am not taking your words out of context. You wrote them, not I.

So independent pharmacists have no choice in what they choose to stock? Regulate that too.

You'll have to do better than that.

If he kept the prescription form, how did she get it filled two days later?

Stepping in to prevent a crime against a thrid party, such as chasing down a mugger.

In a civil society, people don't get to go around violating other's rights just because they personally think they are immoral.

I think sex before marriage is immoral, but I can't go around kidnapping people because I know they are going to do it.

As the other poster pointed out, Jews think eating ham sandwiches is immoral, but they better not take my lunch away. Liberals think voting for Bush was immoral, but they don't get to disenfranchise me.

Your position is untenable.

This is how I feel about abortion. Should someone or the state force a woman to carry a pregnancy to term if she doesn't want to? She owns her body. Also, I really don't understand the Catholic position, I assume this pharmacist is Catholic, on prohibiting birth control pills. Doesn't the pill just keep a woman from ovulating? An unfertilized egg is not on it's way to developing into child, so the pill is not causing an abortion. Lastly, there are all sorts of products that can be used for "immoral" purposes. Why is this guy not refusing to sell beer or cigarettes or rolling papers and yeah, viagra? To me it's just ridiculous. He's a self-righteous a**.

"How would you know he a was a liberal?"

The "liberal" connotation was not my doing. It really makes no difference to the argument.

"Or you tell them that you're going to do something that you might not consider immoral, but they do.

Excellent point. I don't agree with them, but they are certainly entitled to not service guns intended for those purposes. I can't, and won't, force them to do such a thing. Would you?

I'd go back to my doctor, get another gun, and have it serviced elsewhere. No big deal.

Have fun.......just know that I don't buy into your crypto-conservatism.

Enjoy the rest of my columns as you scour them for further proof of your huge, life-changing discovery.

Your columns aren't earth shattering, so don't congratulate yourself.

Oh, you've found me out! What shall I do??

The same thing your other friends do. Choose a new disguise and return at some later date.

I hope there are no pharmacists who decide that my ulcer has a right to be in my stomach and that I can no longer take Prevacid.

You're dodging the issue. No, the law shouldn't require that someone fix your gun. However, if he refuses to do so, the law does require that he return it to you.

I'd go back to my doctor, get another gun, and have it serviced elsewhere. No big deal.

So you would have no problem with people keeping your property because they didn't like what you planned to do with it? Can I borrow your car sometime?

The better analogy was proposed in post #391, where a business refused to service/repair your gun.

Should you be able to force that business to service your gun if they're against the killing of animals and you intend to use your gun for hunting?

Would you, personally, force them to do that?

Obviously, if he gave it back to her, she'd just have it filled somewhere else. Now they're punishing him for not giving it back to her!

You're going to get flamed for that. A lot of people here can't detect obvious sarcasrm.

Simple. She called the doctor and had the prescription sent to a different pharmacy.

You couldn't figure that out all by yourself?

Does this mean you believe the unfertilized egg/free swimming sperm is not alive?

Correct. They might in some scientific sense be alive, but they do not constitute a human life, even if those little guys are my ambassadors.

Would the sterilization of either an unfertile egg or a free swimming sperm be murder?

No.

The Bible is pretty clear that life begins at conception. The Bible also refers to a "man's hand being stained with semen" as being "indecent" but never says it's immoral or has any semblance of being a life or death matter. The Bible almost certainly would have addressed that differently if it was, given the sanctity with which the Bible treats human life.

What's more it appears that God designed woman for the egg to pass every month wether fertilized or not, and I if I remember biology right, a constant replacement process occurs in the man if the sperm is not used.
