Keyester. : )

You fill me with pride.

There were so many times in the last few months that I wished I could actually be there and see it all for myself. I'm sure there's a book in there somewhere. ;-)

I don't see you as a conservative at all, as conservatives aren't in trying to impose their values on others

Forgive me for being so blunt, but people who use this line always crack me up. The reason? It is a show of ignorance. They fail to recognize that in telling someone to stop imposing their values they themselves are trying to impose their values.

Please think and understand that SOME value system must be in place no matter what. The discussion is about where the limits are and why they should be there. Denigrating someone for doing so belongs over on the DU, but not here.

Well, understand that a religion-based value system (and this is what this opposition to contraception AND to abortion is) is also not to be imposed in a country without an established religion...

Deal with it!

From the pharmacist's POV, the script was to be used to commit an immoral act.

That allows any liberal to take your gun.

You are employing pretzel logic.

If you really think that people can steal other peoples property because of the POV of the thief, you need to rethink.

Abortion and contraception are not the same thing, even though you liberals would like to blur that distinction. Abortion violates the rights of the person murdered. Abortion is murder, you are pro abortion, you are pro murder. It's that easy, deal with it.

You would believe the pharmacist to be a "pervert" if he asked the reason for the BCP. Yet you sarcastically hope he's "comfortable with being wrong as well".

You're the one that doesn't want him to ask. Suffer the consequences.

I've already explained my 99.999% comment.

"As I have said, I do not see why the pharmacist kept the script."

In his mind, the script was a license to commit an immoral act, an act which was in violation of his Hippocratic Oath and his personal beliefs.

From that point of view, how could he possibly give it back?

No, because the idea that a fetus is a human being is Christian, and not followed by other religions... So in saying "abortion is murder" you adgere to a Christian religious point of view and try to establish a religion...

Very simple!

Most Christians believe life begins at conception.

Um, my guess is that the next step is circular logic, as in "and if you don't believe this, you are NOT a Christian"?

You're a fool. Abortion is a matter of violating human rights, not faith. The question of when life begins is answered by biology, not religion. Any decent, informed atheist opposes abortion.

(excerpt)

It is so essential that the right-to-life movement in America galvanize behind the idea the logic, not morality, will be what wins the day in this fight, because sometimes, despite the rightness of the intentions, morality has to be left out of the game. Morality doesn’t bind everyone together. The only thing that does that is humanness and the logic of protecting ourselves; and that is what has to be appealed to if we are going to make a difference in the fight to lessen and eventually eliminate abortion.

Here's your prize.

Nonsense, it's science. If not, when do you liberals think that human life begins? Please back up your liberal response with facts, not liberal gibberish.

Would you throw a Jew in the gas chamber knowing that refusing to wouldn't have stopped Hitler from committing genocide?

Uh, you're changing the subject. You originally asked whether one should not steal in order to prevent murder; however, even if one stipulates that the use of oral contraceptives is murder, you must also consider the likelihood that one's act of stealing will actually prevent it -- in this case, nearly zero.

So you should have asked whether one is justified in stealing to make murder slightly less convenient.

Edited for clarity.

I would say that HUMAN life begins, without any doubt, when a fetus has a brain wave.

Prior to that it's arguable either way. After that, there's no room for argument.
