The despondent Dems continue to search for ways to deal with and express their grief over President Bush's startling re-election. Somewhere between the grief stages of despair and acceptance some find solace in Haiku poetry. In my travels around the Internet to gauge the mind of the down and out liberal, I've come across the following [these are actual, not my work]:
November second.
That day lives in infamy.
Four more years of hell.

exit polls excite--
going to sleep well tonight!
say the 'F' word: FRAUD.

Ohio in play?
Only during the daytime.
Nighttime brings Diebold.

Friends overseas wish us well
Bush bends us over [not really hiaku, but does capture the anger]

I thought I was just
As good as anyone else
But soon, FMA. [I need explanation]

Polls are for losers
Bush stole two times in a row
America died.

My short wait in line
Seemed so inconsequential
After four long years

Waiting 8 hours to vote -
Ohio classist.

TV news locked down.
Afraid to claim outright fraud.
Why are we so scared?
People still feel shock
Over the last "selection"
And fall of towers.
If veil is removed,
We have to acknowledge sin:
Iraq, Abu Ghraib
Sending Private Lynch
into hell at age nineteen.
Most in denial.
How to get the truth
out so all can hear it clear?
Message must be framed.
Very nice, especially on Veterans' Day!
Read your post at least five times.
Most excellent.
Haiku to you too!
My life really sucks.
I must have a victim now.
Where's that stupid cat?
Are you two moonlighting from WFTD?
My dumb neighbor
Gambled all on Kerry
And I gloat at him.
Ol' Horseface
45 million remaining
And intent on '08
Miami Therapists
libs in the waiting room
Anguish is costly
Very nice! BTW, I've been lurking around DU since the election just to see how frantic and funny they are. I notice a number of them are obsessed with cats and include cat references and cat photos in their posts. What gives with this? Do some of them only communicate/commune with cats?
