McCullough: Marshall accuses James Dobson of "burning Stephanopoulos at the stake".

Reading the poor lamenting souls on the left right now is really sad.  They are beside themselves not only with loathing of those who beat them in the election but have reduced themselves to the antics of third graders.

Josh Marshall got into this with his smarmy comments
about James Dobson's interview with George Stephanopoulos from this last Sunday. The beef that Marshall has with him is that Dobson dared to say that Senator Patrick Leahy acts as though he hates God's people.

Dobson neither retracted his statement when pressed on it - nor did he apologize.

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: But Dr. Dobson, excuse me for a second. You use the word hate. You said that he's a "God's people hater." How do you back that up?
DR JAMES DOBSON: Well, there's been an awful lot of hate expressed in this election. And most of it has been aimed at those who hold to conservative Christian views. He is certainly not the only one to take a position like that. But
I think that that is -that's where he's coming from. He has certainly
opposed most of the things that conservative Christians stand for.
GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: So no apology?
DR JAMES DOBSON: No apology

While its obvious that Josh Marshall thinks that Dr. Dobson's greatest offense is not apologizing for speaking the truth - he fails like most of the other center left pundits - to see the true effect of what liberals did to the belief systems of "average folks".

Truth is truth. Leahy and many in his camp are Christophobes.

Marshall always has struck me as the type to never apologize either.

Would these libs kindly quit it with their hysterical rhetoric? I can't take much more of it.

Actually, I hope they keep hammering home their hatred for the American voter. And I hope the mainpileofsteam media continues to hate their dwindling customer base too.

Yeah - I'm actually getting a big kick out of it...Watching these libs trying to articulate the God Gap has been one of the funniest moments in modern political history...

Xavier graduated a senior-heavy team. (Didn't they lose their coach again, too?)

In any case, rebuilding year. Also for Univ. of Cincy which had a terrible recruiting year after Huggins' DUI and suspension....right at letter of intent time.

The class in the area will probably be Louisville, which, I think, has a junior/senior team this year with Pitino still at the helm.

A lie is a lie regardless of how many people believe it...
And the truth is the truth even if no one belives it.

I haven't figured out how Senator Patrick Leahy, an Irish Catholic, a graduate of Saint Michael's in Vermont & of Georgetown University Law School, could be such a nasty pro-abortion person.

Where did he pick that up, do you suppose?

Do you think Momma Leahy (Mrs. Senator Leahy) would not let him into her knickers were he otherwise?

The left, IMO, is really trying very hard to define the Christian right as being unrelenting and uncompassionate right-wing voters....they will be keep beating this rhetoric until the 2008 election and of course, the MSM will accommodate them, as usual.

Pray for George. He comes form a good family--his father and grandfather were Orthodox priests, and his sister is an Orthodox nun in Jerusalem (about as conservative of Christians as one can get--we still use the same services we have for the past 1200 years or so, longer if you exclude the recently composed wedding rite). He took a wrong turn somewhere.

I hear conversations between the siblings often get 'interesting' when she takes him to task for his politics, esp. on abortion.

XU lost three starters to graduation, and you are right, Matta left (for OSU). However, I really believe that the new coach, Sean Miller, is a better fit for the school as he does not openly have his eyes focused on a higher job (the knock against Matta was that he was just waiting for a Big Ten job to open, and everyone knew that). Plus, Miller has been the top assistant and recruiter the past three seasons so it is not a huge adjustment. They will probably tumble out of the gate, but should be in good shape come March.

I don't know what is happening in Lexington with UK, but I would have to agree the Cards are the best in the region at the start of the season. I guess Garcia came back and did not go to the NBA.

One can "profess" all kinds of beliefs and not really hold them. Being a member of a church does not confer actual belief in one's heart.

More like Commie-Vampires, as I have called them for years.

They suck the lifes-blood from everything good in this country, and shrink from the cross as if it is death.

For me, I could care less if they are "religious", but their consistant bigotry, hatred, and active distruction of the symbols of faith from the public square, shows me they have an agenda.

To reduce individual faith, and increase faith in the state, ie communisim.

Something that fascinates me is that if you asked a liberal if we Arab society should be pushed a bit to stop treating their women like livestock they go PC on you, "You have to respect their culture. That's how they are. It works for them." But if you suggest that perhaps the good people of Alabama shouldn't be forced to accept the morals of a whorehouse they screach, "Redneck, ignorant Jesus freaks!"

So at they same time they tolerate the Burka, they hate anyone apposed to government funded, late-term abortion on demand.

I've also noted a marked aversion to 'sunshine.'

Consistent with vampires AND roaches!

Be interesting of some of these people would actually go back and read the transcripts of Leahy and Kennedy attacking Ashcroft for being too religious. That he actually might put his faith into his conduct at this job.
