The Democrats have become the Party Of Beautiful People and Hollywood cash. That's bad news for them in that the values of Tinseltown and Middle America are not one and the same. A party that can't reach Red State voters who shop at Wal-mart and looks down on them faces an uphill fight. Its really quite simple: what America do the Democrats want to represent? Since right now they seem content to snub flyover country and schmooze with the self-appointed coastal liberal elites.

No, no, no... Democrats need to get madder. They aren't angry enough.

...And they need to ban the Pledge of Allegiance.

...And they need to demand abortions of convenience be available 24/7 like convenience stores on every street corner.

...And they need to bash the Boy Scouts some more.

...And they need to demand that crosses be removed from federal cemeteries and that bibles be banned from courtrooms.

...And, oh yeah, did I mention that they need be angrier?!

Yeah, yeah, that's the ticket for them...

...to be relegated to the ash heap of History that they so richly deserve.

Mr. Dreyfuss noted the powerful momentum behind Mr. Kerry's candidacy and promised that in the unlikely event of a Bush triumph, the energy would continue to build, leading, inexorably, to the impeachment of the president.

Dreyfuss really needs to bend over the casting couch if he thinks he's going to revive his flaccid career. This pot shot at the prez ain't gonna cut it.

All the Democrats can do is concentrate on the blue states that have a large concentration of people with their hands out.

That will give them local power, but not national power.

The Dems screwed themselves when they left Middle America behind and went into "group politics". Now the chickens come home to roost.

Is there going to be a widespread boycott of Hollywood? I haven't been to a movie in a year because they all made me so mad.

The biggest thing they just don't GET???? They are dumb-fuck ACTORS. They RECITE LINES that other people WROTE. They do not have the collective brain power of a jar of flies. They barely know their lines, let alone politics and foreign affairs. NO WONDER AMERICA RESENTS THEIR INTRUSIONS. Since when do I, or any other American, need to get our political bearings from a bunch of pampered, manicured, brain-dead poodles who bark on command? (BTW, I think Lassie was a Republican.....)

On the surface Hollywood and the entertainment industry looks wholesome, traditional family values and all, but underneath the shimmering surface you get something else. The sordid sex menage et tois of Spears, Aqullera and Madona... That terrible trio coming up through the floor boards into your living room via TV suggest that lesbian kisses, gay rights, gay marriages, etc., are now common fare... are now acceptable to public taste. We have a host of Hollywood movies that contain lesbian scenes, eg., Hours, Monster, etc... we have gay TV shows (Will and Grace), we have the Madona, Spears & Aqullera lesbian smooching in front of the youngsters in public, we have the whole gay marriage issue in the US... and all at the same time! Yes, at the same time! Why? Because the liberal elites in Hollywood, the same ones who supported John Kerry for president, the same ones that gave an Oscar to Michael Moore to sink the noble, time-honoured documentary by making a trashy propaganda film to take out Bush, have an agenda... And that is to promote gay rights as part of the liberal creed. Personally, if I could have voted in the US (I'm Canadian), I'd vote for Bush... because Hollywood is arrogant and imperialistic in thinking that it can control you through its media, that it can repackage history, sell you an identity, control you through emotion and sex appeal. The down side of Hollywood and the entertainment industry is that it wants more than your money... it wants your soul!

One further note: I use to be a liberal artist but now I've heard so much hypocrisy, deceit and double talk from that camp that I can't stand it. The older I get the more I appreciate the simple virtues of honesty and courage. You may not agree with Bush or his policies but at least you know where he stands, you know that he has morals and is steadfast. The John Kerry camp sadly needed Hollywood's big production movie to prove that he is legit. It wanted to WOW you on the JFK, Ted Kennedy grooming Kerry connection. And for the most part the hip images of the liberals are deceptive: tie undone, a sports jacket causally flung over the shoulder, friendly, smiling, etc. It won't do any artists any good because these liberals are solely out for themselves. All you aspiring musicians and artists that expect great things to be done your country will stay in your dream drenched holes because a) these people are the elites out to be on top and... b) when they are on top they are going to make choices decided by their masters in Hollywood... But they will try to sell you images and dreams as only Hollywood can.

For any Brits who read this, I'll say I respect Blair as another man of integrity who made hard choices for the better of Britain and the world. It is odd but the idealism toward a better world should now come from conservative camps. The underbelly of Hollywood is essentially out to make money and push or dissolve the moral boundaries at any expense. These elites will resort to any means of deceit (the lies in Fahrenheit 9/11) and hypocrisy (Moore attacks Capitalism but is a multimillionaire) to get their way. It's just a smarmy and smug world if you ever have the misfortune to hear them lecture you on their lack of money for supporting the arts (and this brazen hypocrisy will be flung at you from some of the most posh and palatial surroundings). Yes, it's a sad day for the arts and the truth.

Thank God Bush won!

Where does this idiot think the impeachment votes are going to come from? On the House judiciary committee, on the floor of the House and in the Senate -- the Republicans are all in firm control.

A party that can't reach Red State voters who shop at Wal-mart and looks down on them faces an uphill fight.

But they are 'true believers'. And remember, at least in the Presidential race, Bush won OH by only 150K or so votes, maybe a lot less after they use these provisionals to stuff the ballot box. This disconnect between America-haters and America is dangerous. It's the product of the LM machine for two decades or more. And they garnered 48% of the popular vote.

I'm worried about this country. Don't rest on success. Always assume you're battling your way through. And I don't think it's a stretch to suggest that, even on 8 NOV 2004, the week after the election.

Hollywood celebs are the most un-loved people in the world.

Let's face it, our relationship with them is completely utilitarian, if they don't entertain us, we reject them. Instinctively aware of their conditional approval, they constantly seek affirmation for their existence, while at the same time carrying the heavy burden of their certain, (to them) superiority over us.

What we see from them are the actions of an un-loved, yet spoiled child.

There is no solution for Hollywood, except for them to realize that they are paid huge sums of money to entertain the rest of America and the other side of that deal is that they not opine on anything of substance because they are, as a group, not very bright.

I man, have you ever LISTENED to Susan Sarandon talk about politics? Just not very bright. Sad, really.
