This map is large enough to see each county clearly, and has the shape of the States outlined in white.
Someone should save it and keep it on their server, to avoid the dreaded "red X" phemomenon, if the guy's bandwidth is exceeded on the Squabble site.
I do not like that ugly blue line snaking up the Mississippi River. Must be university towns.
At least 4 of the blue Michigan counties are university towns.
Oh, look. the blue area really are depressed....
What's with that one blue county up in Wyoming? I think most of that is national park lands. Perhaps Jackson, WY, turned it blue (the color of Tidy Bowl). That's the county where Cheney has his place, I think.
OK, correct me if I'm wrong. I see maybe 4 decisively blue states. Heart and soul of America?
Mono county in California (oblong county to the east of SF, on the border with Nevada) is now tied at 2200-2200 and once the absentees are fully counted, it will go to W.
I tried to print it out for my hubby to see (it comes in two parts); my printer ran out of blue ink, so the Dem areas are PINK! LOLOLOL!
Bush carried Cameron County, Texas, the southernmost tip of Texas. This map is showing that it went to Kerry?
Glacier County in Montana should be blue not red. Hey at least they didn't get Flathead wrong!
I first saw this map about 2 days ago. I did check it visually against all the others I've seen to see that it was pretty accurate. Can't vouch for every county, though, including the S. Texas one you mention.
Maybe it's something in the water.
No, these are the counties where the nation's poorest blacks live in high percentages. Kerry counties this year, to be sure, but very faithful and someday might become Republican as they identify less and less with the white, elistist, rich lefties that populate the West Coast and New England.
Way to go Oklahoma & Nebraska: solid red!
Oops, Alaska, too.
(or is it all one county?)
Nice map, gay shade of blue, too!
This map is proof positive that the Electoral College fulfills the framers' intent -- that a few highly-populated urban areas do not dominate the more rural states.
