Swift Boat Veterans pleased ad campaign paid off, says a local organizer of effort
Its mission accomplished, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth has essentially dissolved.
"I don't think there is any doubt that we succeeded," said retired Rear Adm. Roy F. Hoffmann, who helped start the organization from the den of his Chesterfield County home then saw it grow into a national movement.
Like just about everyone else, Hoffmann said "I stayed up all night" watching the election returns that denied John Kerry the presidency.
That was the organization's goal - to prevent Kerry from being "commander in chief," Hoffmann said.

Thank you Swift Boat Vets.
Best return on investment (donation) that I've ever gotten.
Thank you, SwiftVets. You stood up to be counted when your country needed you one last time.
God bless you all.
Let them know how much we appreciate their courage. Email them at :

They were attacked by the MSM, the least we can do is thank them for their service (twice!)
The Swift Boats Vets have guts AND glory, and I hope they are savoring the victory. We all owe them for what they did for us in Viet Nam AND in 2004! HUGE thanks and a tip of the hat yo thm!
I admire them for sticking to the mission, which was to prevent Kerry from becoming CINC.
Kerry's now an inconsequential Massachusetts problem.
High Plains Drifer, where he dissolves into a desert mirage...
Actually, I know about his support for Kerry (although all I heard of was that he conducted a concert at one of Flipper's galas), but I don't hear JW whining about it, like a lot of these other malignant narcissists...besides, even if he were, there is no way in **** that I'm giving up my Star Wars, Raiders, Olympics, and other music.
(Conversely, if I thought someone was a p**** beforehand, the fact that he/she supports the President won't change my mind positively towards them.)
I probably already have many of his CDs, but Freepmail me your titles, if you're really "series".
By the way, Hans Zimmer's other offerings are "The Rock", "The Peacemaker", and one of my all time favorites, "Crimson Tide". Someone else whose music I like is Danny Elfman, who did the first two "Batman" films, and also Pee-wee, Dick Tracy, Beetlejuice, and "The Simpsons".
You might also try James Horner, of "Alien(s)", "Star Trek II", and "True Lies".
Nah, no need to dump one, to make room for another...
As an American black man, and as someone who absolutely was both for POTUS, and against Kerry, I believe that both parties made the decision to stand up for that which they believed, at tremendous personal and societal risk to themselves.
Here's my justification for inclusion of both days. One got the word out about a potential disaster for our country, particularly during a time when our troops are in harm's way. The other got the word out about an EXISTING disaster in our country, where the words of the Constitution did not apply to a certain race of people.
Both are/were honorable. Both are/were heroic. Both stand/stood on principle. Ergo, keep both days (or keep one, and make another).
I have to agree with you that there was an existing disaster. As you said "where the words of the Constitution did not apply to a certain race of people" is certainly true. And that we have "dodged a bullet" by defeating Kerry. For as much as I have to agree with the principles espoused by the Civil Rights movement (e.g. equality under law), I do have my reservations about some of the personalities (MLK for one). Perhaps this is how some Americans feel about the founders who owned slaves. Interesting.
Big Swifties ~ Bump!
the swiftvets are TRUE American heroes....GOD bless them
I hope we will hear more about Kerry's military record and about him meeting with terrorists.
And as a lot of folks here did it was the little guy, the Veterans, the Moms and Dads, students and other folks who donated some of their hard earned dollars to ensure these guys could put forth the ads and information to make sure Kerry wasn't honored for his acts as a traitor to America.
Thank You all !
Huh? Which book? Unfit For Command?
I preordered it from Amazon and read it the day it arrived.
You sure you have the right person?
I bought a copy but I still haven't read it. The election was taking all of my free time. Back to 'real life' and reading books again!!
I wanted to donate to the Swifties but being Canadian, I wasn't sure how legal it was. You have IRS donation rules that prohibit foreign political donations so I wasn't sure they applied. Buying their book is my contribution to these bold and courageous heroes, plus my prayers for them. Hope they made a lot of money on the book. They deserve it for all the flak they received.
Well done guys - you were the difference. I wonder if we'll ever know if Kerry earned his purple hearts or if he was less than honorably discharged.
Thank You!
