Specter is extremely proud of his opposition to conservative Judge Robert Bork, and would stop another judge like him in a second.
From the Bucks County Courier-Times:
Specter said he does use his position on the Senate Judiciary Committee - a panel he will probably begin chairing next year if re-elected - to weed out judges who are extreme. He points to Robert Bork, a Ronald Reagan nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court.
"I not only voted against Bork, I led the charge against him," Specter said.

I'd like to see Bush nominate Bork's son.
To: GeneralHavoc
I'm making calls tomorrow.
By the way, Bork is 78 years young. He'll fit right in with current members.

Just one more example that Specter has a BIG mouth and a small brain and he frequently shoots off the first without engaging the second. Not exactly the appropriate temperament to chair an important committee like Judiciary.

Whether Lobotomy Arlen chairs the Judiciary Committee will be a telling moment for Bush's second term. This decision will signal whether conservatives have the stomach to fight for their beliefs, or whether they will adopt a Bush I mentality.
The last thing we need is another David Souter! I would prefer to see Bush send up the most qualified true conservative and let the Senate Dims and RINOs do their thing ..... then make a recess appointment. Bush should take John Edwards' advice: Fight! Fight! Fight!

Or better yet, his daughter-in-law.

Time to banish this vile Specter In other words, "Out, damned spot!"?

I agree. Robert Bork is one of the most brilliant men I know of when it comes to the US Constitution. He is a strict, very strict "original intent" interpreter. That is what is needed.

That was Ronald Reagan that liberal serpent ultimately fought against, one of our finest presidents. Specter can't be trusted. He's the worst kind of RINO crapweasel.
