My guess is we already have stuff up there. But it's good to advertise it.
Space based weapons also offer a very good approach to knocking down ICBMs. At apogee, above the earth's atmosphere a high powered laser has great range, a great knockout punch, and the ability to destroy many targets.

Good.

Call me insensitive, but now I'd also like to see Bush & Co. clamp an air-tight curb on illegal immigration into the U.S.

And yes, 99.9% of the illegals pouring in are NOT Muslim terrorist. But these immigrants are a direct threat to our culture and security, too. They will destroy America just as surely as the Muslims would do, only slower.

The Air Force Space Doctrine has been around for years. It certainly isn't new.

Ok where's that FR poster with the image of the guy with a pained look, holding his head and saying; "Aw geeze not this crap again!"? After all it is a story from the infamous Guardian Unlimited of the UK.

Counterspace Operations reveals that destroying enemy satellites would improve the chance of victory. It states: 'Space superiority provides freedom to attack as well as freedom from attack. Space and air superiority are crucial first steps in any military operation.'

Most importantly the press can't blab like the town gossip what's going on until it's over. Sort of shut down the enemies intell network. I Like that.

Yeah, I loved that "CNN has learned of a super-secret campaign that is to commence at 13:40 on Tuesday against the following targets" stuff.

Yeah, but that's a long extension cord. How do you power a laser with enough Wop to take down missles?

We already have nuclear power generators in space. Solar panels charging up batteries/capacitors or even a flywheel system could work. All kinds of options. Remember that a laser is based on concentrated energy. It's all about watts/sq mm. You plant 1KW/MM and it will penetrate a missile.

One design had a small nuclear charge. I.e., a bomb. One shot but what a shot.

I am not at liberty to discuss other options.
