Governor coy on helping President Bush carry Ohio
SCHWARZENEGGER CLAIMS TO FEAR BACKLASH FROM HIS WIFE
As politics watchers will recall, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger campaigned for President Bush in Columbus, Ohio, just days before the election, in which that same state boosted the president to re-election.
So was it the Terminator who finally terminated the chances of Democratic challenger John Kerry? One unnamed Schwarzenegger adviser told the Los Angeles Times that ``we'll take our share of credit,'' even though Kerry carried Franklin County (where Columbus is located) handily.
But publicly, the governor demurred on that subject, mindful that his home state, and first lady Maria Shriver, favored Kerry.

"SCHWARZENEGGER CLAIMS TO FEAR BACKLASH FROM HIS WIFE"
Don't we all?
Thanks, great pictures! Believe me, I've been seriously evaluating whether it is possible to get along with a liberal... at least, with one that's utterly convinced the world's going to end and that he's going to be drafted.
Honey, if you don't want him, I think there are thousands who would.
Even Terminators quail before The Wife.
GLOATFEST!! Bwwwwwwwwwwwhahahahahahahahahahahah
ahhhhhhhhhhh- AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...heh heh....HAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... :)
Lol.. Im engaged.. But i know where you are coming from.
But I also am not running for political office anytime soon. :)
ok, now that the election is over, perhaps we can run a dating service here to match up nice freeper men with available freeper women...
No "blues" need apply...
You may be right. I didn't hear this, but only read it, and don't know the expression on his face or the tone in his voice. Said in the right way it could get a big laugh coming from someone who is as masculine as Arnold. He does have quite a sense of humor.
He also makes a lot of self-deprecating jokes about "Sleeping with a Kennedy", or being made to "sleep on the sofa". etc.
You are right, it wwould help if we could see or hear.
Why settle for something less than you deserve? Are you that desperate?
Arnold did little to help Bush in Ohio.
The President won Ohio because Bush was Bush and a terrific ground game.
I admire a ballsy, tough, macho man who knows his place vis a vis his wife.
No joke - a dominant woman is a great thing. The true center and heart of the family, and can bend the will of a man like superman bends steel in his bare hands!
It's because of this that I tell people not to marry outside of their political party! :-)
"He was afraid to compaign CA for Bush because he would upset the Dems."
Um how about a link that provides some evidence to back up this statement.
Really? Is that why Bush asked him to go to Ohio and campaign with him there knowing that Arnold used to reside there?
His power base in CA rests on one thing and one thing only: his popularity. If he sacrifices that, he's got no more power.
He gets what he wants because voters like him, and do as he asks on election day (he generally gets propositions passed or defeated, and he can try to get Dem representatives knocked off if they are too much trouble to him).
He shouldn't throw all of that away just so Bush can get a higher percentage of the popular vote.
Have a little perspective: This isn't about his wife, it's about millions of angry Californians.
Wish I had one, but he said it. Ummm... sorry.
It's different when the lamentations you hear are from your own woman.
