Disillusioned Yanks eye NZ (No, US liberals, don't come here - go to Canada or France please)

Inquiries from Americans wanting to move to New Zealand have "exploded" since George W Bush was re-elected president.

The Immigration Service's website had 10,300 hits from the United States the day after the election. Usually it gets 2500 hits a day.

And the phones of its US marketing directors in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Portland, Oregon, have been ringing nonstop since the election.

Marketing director Don Badman said there had been up to 300 telephone calls and emails a day.

"We've been doing this for 11 months and it's been building up to about six to eight calls a day, but from Thursday it's exploded. It really started picking up from 11pm the night of the election."

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that many Americans were inquiring about moving to New Zealand, Australia and Canada as a result of the election.

A Canadian website is reaching out to help weary liberal Americans, asking Canadians to marry someone from south of the border.

"Open your heart and your home. Marry an American. Legions of Canadians have already pledged to sacrifice their singlehood to save our southern neighbours from four more years of cowboy conservatism," jokes the site, set up by a Toronto humour magazine.

To convince Americans to come on up, the site mentions that Canada is a liberal utopia with universal health care and, in some provinces, gay marriage.

"We envision a movement where everyone wins: Freedom of expression and a politically convenient marriage with love and igloos for all."

Of course we can. NZ is so liberal they blaze international blue. The problem is that liberals are all talk and no walk. They would much rather be victums than actually do something. You have fight, flight and whine. They are definately whine.

I'm convinced if all libs were forced to live ANYWHERE else in the world, they would die to come home. Perhaps that's the same for anyone from anywhere. The small percentage that are happier elsewhere, should stay there, and never be allowed to vote in either country. Escaping responsibilities in one country, does not earn you rights in another.

So.. bubbye libs............don't come back. WE don't want you, and you are finding, no one else does either.

I'd rather have the Mexicans. At least they want to work, and they mind their own business.

President Bush out of spite should pressure Canada to change its immigration policies.

You know, lecture them about their insensitivity and narrow-mindness, make snooty statements to the press implying moral superiority when their prime minister is in town. That sort of thing.

Juts so they know, when they go they can't come back for MRI's, cardiac caths or bypasses. They will have to sink or swim with Socialist Medicine.

I don't think we should take no for an answer. We should deport them anyway.

Ah, but does New Zealand have a government teat for these new citizens? If so, their national deficit will surpass ours.

Are you sure this is accurate since it is based on exit polls?;)

OK, but keep it simple: straight trades, no extra money, back-loaded contracts, or "players to be named later".

Interesting graph - looks like half of the targeted senior citizens didn't buy the dimo line but I am still waiting for a profile of how the Muslims voted. We heard so much about their voting bloc before the election and now...nada.

The real seniors - those who are over 65 or 75 - remember the days of WWII, Pearl Harbour. "The Greatest Generation" will never vote in an anti-war appeaser even if he appears to butter their apparent entitlements.

They understand what a privelege it is to live in this country. They're not spoiled, sniveling ingrates like the libs.

You want them? We're more than happy to give them up, although I really can't wish them on anyone....Cuba maybe

,,, send us your poorest and your sleaziest. In anticipation, we're constructing a Statue of Liberty in the image of Helen Klark in the Hauraki Gulf... financed thru rake-offs from LOTR box office takings.
