Color the Democrats totally clueless
Orlando Sentinel/The Spokesman-Review ^ | 11-6-04 | Kathleen Parker

Posted on 11/06/2004 11:00:36 AM PST by lilylangtree

As stunned Democrats scratch the dry earth for signs and glance heavenward for clues to the strange universe that re-elected George W. Bush, it seems unduly cruel to withhold what Ordinary Americans have known all along.

Herewith a few hints: Michael Moore, Bruce Springsteen, P. Diddy, Paris Hilton, Ben Afflect, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Barbra Streisand, Jon Bon Jovi, Uma Thurman, Kirsten Dunst, Leonardo DiCaprio, Teresa Heinz Kerry, Ron Reagan, Moveon.org, Dan Rather, the French--and everyone else who would be speaking German today, if not for the bravery and sacrific of Ordinary Americans who are today held in such contempt by all of the above.

It's the elitism, mes freres.

Here's another clue: When courting voters in flyover states, one does not say: "I love you stupid redneck morons." Especially not when sporting biking tights and straddling an $8,000 two-wheeler--a dollar amount, incidentally that many Ordinary Americans consider a life's savings.

Not that John F. Kerry ever said such, but he didn't have to. Preening in luxury and surrounded by celebrity friends, contemptuous of the values ordinary Americans hold dear, he might as well have waltzed down Beale Street whistling Disie.

Never has a politician been so out of touch with the voters whose goals he purportedly shares. Nor a party so out of tune with the nation's defining song: "God Bless America."

And the editorial gets better. Read the rest at: http://www.spokesmanreview.com/opinion/story.asp?ID=36197

Agreed because after the elder Bush was decimated by the traitorous actions of the demoncRATS, these same demoncRATS and mainstream media foisted off on us the most corrupted, amoral couple of all time--clintoons, especially clintoon a draft dodger and war protestor. This I find rather ironic considering that clintoon ordered bombing of 7 countries in the 8 years of office, more than any other prez in history. Then the demoncRATS and mainstream media complicity tried their tactics again with sKerry, a traitor and war protestor. However, We the People got the word out--never another clintoon. Eternal vigilance is the key operative words now.

"As stunned Democrats scratch the dry earth for signs and glance heavenward for clues "

That's a start for them. But I think they are looking down for help.

But what the Democrats got wrong, and what the New York Times subjects seem to be missing, is that traditional values and sophistication are not mutually exclusive.

Fine, as far as it goes, but it doesn't go far enough. Traditional "values" and sophistication are in fact mutually inclusive.

The inability to differentiate right from wrong is a mark of primitivism at best, barbarism at worst. Ethical and moral systems are precisely what define civilization. I'm sick of hearing urbanites declare their self-appointed sophistication and cultural elitism. It's crap. Have you actually tried to read the literature they think is erudite? Have you actually tried to watch any of the programs or films they think are avant-garde? They're full of played-out stories, tired cliches, vacuous characters, and juvenile vulgarity.

You'd have to laugh at what the NY Times thinks is "sophisticated" if it weren't so completely devoid of originality and so culturally depraved.

Beverly Camhe, a film producer; Zito Joseph, a retired psychiatrist; and Roberta Kimmel Cohn, an art dealer, elite New Yorkers all, were stunned. In Joseph's words, Bush voters are "obtuse," "short-sighted," "redneck," "shoot-from-the-hip" religious literalists.

"New Yorkers are more sophisticated and at a level of consciousness where we realize we have to think of globalization, of one mankind, that what's going to injure masses of people is not good for us," said Joseph, as he shared coffee and cigarettes with Cohn at an outdoor cafi.

These two paragraphs contradict one another but sums up the thinking of the left, "We are all of one mankind, except those obtuse, short-sighted, rednecks who don't think like we do. We'll change their thinking someday."

Good point. What they think is avant garde, especially on tv, is nothing but trash, and I don't watch trash. Trash is taken out and dumped every week.

"This I find rather ironic considering that clintoon ordered bombing of 7 countries in the 8 years of office, more than any other prez in history."

Exactly! And to narrow it down, this was a guy who bombed 4 countries in just 8 months, during the height of his domestic "affair." Yet, even as the Arab media noted the similarities to Wag-the-Dog, our oh-so compassionate press and liberal freinds were no where to be found lamenting the loss of innocent life.

On the contrary, where we have a media that now polls the world to get their reactions to Bush, these same propaganidists practially had a black-out on the international press when Clinton was president. These idiots are so predictable...and people are finally catching on.

She also talks in laymen's terms so that anyone can understand her meaning

Well this is another conservative spouting simplistic stuff that sounds good, and will mesmerize the ignorant. I note, however, that her article is devoid of the nuance required of serious dialog about policy goals.

Consciousness and sophisticaiton. This is the same globalization that flew fully fueled aircraft into the WTC, direct by friends downtown at the UN. This isn't sophistation at all. It is running away from reality as fast as you can while it comes crashing down around your ears, more literally than figuratively. And they call people who live in the red-zone rubes. These people are totally unconscious. Even the dubmest red-zone rube has the sense to stay out of the way of a bull in rut.

tuche" I have one and he gives me headaches...lol, however we are talking about a behavior on election night interesting that the Bush Twins cannot do anything off mark without the pundits talking. I should be used to the media partisanship I know.
