Judiciary is too important and we do NOT need an obstructionist RINO chairman running it.

Notice that the New York Slimes no longer assumes that the abortion card will be useful for their agenda. They're all excited at the prospect of a Republican food fight, but they also understand that President Bush was re-elected largely by the votes of people who are pro-life.
That includes not only the Catholics who voted for him rather than the so-called Catholic Kerry, but the Evangelicals who came out in large numbers on election day.
For years the media have loved to pretend that abortion is a done deal, that the great majority of the country supports it, and that anyone who runs on a pro-life position will lose. That simply isn't true, and it's now obvious that it isn't true. The media mask is slipping.
I do believe they are worried. I've never seen them take this kind of stance on abortion before.
No you need to stop acting like the minority party , get a backbone, and grow a pair ! Arlen is a RINO and a backstabber! It took him less than 48 hours (post election victory and MANDATE) to piss on President Bush and tell him that, "no it's not me it's raining outside-honest".
Isn't Charles Grassley of Iowa being suggested for the same seat? Is there any way way to juggle around the assignments to assure that Arlen Specter does NOT get this chairmanship?

Should the powers that be in the Republican Party choose to ignore the thousands like myself, well there is another election coming in 2006 and what is fair for the goose is fair for the gander.
Who are these "Republicans on Capitol Hill"? Who is this unnamed "one"? Why should I believe a reporter who says this sort of thing citing unamed sources? The entire point is bull5hit anyway -- Specter has never been Chairman, and while he may be next in line, that is NOT entitlement.
I hope old Arlen has many a sleepless night for the next few weeks.
What an idiotic thing to do, this old fart that has been so reviled by real Republicans for so long. Arlen was hurting this past election cycle and Bush saved him. Arlen was supposed to deliver Penna in return.
Which he did not but beyond that, the fart ups and calls a press conference and announces right from the get go about his power and plan to help the Dems block judicial nominees.
Because that is what he did no mind his backpedal and no mind the spin fellow Repubs might try to put on it.
The Republican base had just come off a most difficult election where they had been beat and bloodied. The LAST thing these supporters needed to hear is this crap from Scottish law Arlen.
Specter should not get that judiciary position just for being so thoughtless and stupid. The Republican base deserved better than that and they already hate the guy.
It's the in-your-face arrogance of the man, the audacity, that enrages the Republican base. And rightfully so.
Specter will be chairman, and he will send every one of the Bush nominees to the floor, even if he opposes them. This is much ado about nothing.

My parents are stauch Republicans and even they voted against him.
Okay I made 2 calls today, one to specters office one to frist, I NEVER call congress people and I did today. We are either going to use this muscle we have or we will stand back bewildered by what these people do when they are supposedly representing us. Just like terrorists our elected officials only act when they feel direct pressure on their throats.
