who will it be
Can I get an AMEN!
As I said before, I will not back a pro-abortion Presidential candidate.
As a Floridian, I'm a huge Jeb! fan, but I do fear the "dynasty" thing may be too much for some. Not so sure about Condi, either - historically, intellectuals have a tough time in presidential races, e.g. Stevenson, Goldwater, Gore (though the latter was more of an overeducated idiot).
I'm surprised that in almost 200 posts, no one has mentioned Elizabeth Dole. She has a fairly solid background - cabinet secretary, senator, Red Cross president. She has been through the scrutiny of a presidential campaign before. She's a gifted speaker - remember her Oprahesque speech at the '96 convention? And if Hillary is the ultimate opponent, she would match up very, very well...
Dole was truly a feminist pioneer; I remember her saying she was one of the first five or so women at Harvard Law School. Clinton, in contrast, was one of the baby boomer lemmings of the 60s. Dole was the first female transportation secretary before being elected Senator; Clinton merely rode her husband's coat tails as First Lady. I think it would be easy to draw a contrast between Clinton as a talker and Dole as a doer.
Besides, Americans could begin to atone for the wrongs of 1996 by making Bob Dole, not Slick Willie, our first "First Man."
The 1st time I heard Michael Steele was the convention (I was going to pick him on this thread, too). He was VERY impressive! I'll take him over Obama any day.

We can dream, can't we? I think we've earned it.
I want to learn more about him. He came off very well.
But yeah, skeletons... no DUI, right? RIGHT?!? ; )
After Tuesday, yes. I was a poll worker, and could only get updates via cellphone from my husband and then my son. My mother in law came in to vote, and I asked her how it was going (that was about 3:30) and she just looked around to see who was listening, and then shook her head. I didn't know it was getting any better until I got home after 8:00. That was a roller coaster of a day. Glad it's over.
Can't we all just take the weekend off and start disussing this a year from this coming Monday?
I agree, though, that he would be a fabulous candidate.
I like that one!
Laura Ingraham / Ann Coulter.....or Ann Coulter / Laura Ingraham
First, judges do not interpret the constitution. They write it. If President Bush were to appoint judges who'd overturn Roe, President Giuliani would appoint judges who would reinstate it.
