American troops in Fallujah have made loudspeaker announcements and handed out leaflets urging civilians to leave the city ahead of an expected assault.

The move comes as troops prepare for a major assault on rebel strongholds in Fallujah and nearby Ramadi.
The soldiers warned they would arrest any man under the age of 45 found trying to leave or enter the city.
Roads around Fallujah have been blocked and the city has been battered by US air strikes in preparation for the offensive.
Hospital officials said air strikes overnight had killed three people and wounded four others, while troops continue to shell insurgents, who have responded with rocket-propelled grenade fire.
Most of the 300,000 population of Fallujah have already fled and US marines say they are awaiting orders from President George W Bush and Ayad Allawi, the Iraqi interim prime minister, before beginning the attack.
Mr Allawi is in Europe to meet EU leaders today and is expected to return with an agreed reconstruction package.
The EU is offering Iraq an £11.5 million aid package to support the country's January elections and the criminal justice system.
Earlier, Mr Allawi met Tony Blair and both men emphasised that the elections must go ahead.
Mr Blair said: "These people that are trying to create circumstances of chaos and instability in Iraq are doing so because of their fear of the democratic process."
To All, Whoever does not have the stomach for this fight, let him depart. Give him his money to speed his departure since wish not to die in this man's company. Whoever lives past today and comes home safely will rouse himself every year on this day, show his neighbor his scares, and tell embellished stories of all their great feats in battle. These stories he will teach his son and from this day until the end of the world we shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; for whoever has shed his blood with me shall be my brother. And those men afraid to go will think themselves lesser men as they hear of how we fought and died together. Semper Fi !
I would not loss sleep if we killed them all.
Is there a Fallujah Cam? Sure hope so.
It is all coming together... an epochal moment.
..........there are NO WMD there?
/sarcasm
LOL! I was thinking the same thing this morning!
And Dashole gets the boot! All in one week.
heheheh.
Is that a joke? 11.5 million?
11,500,000.00 EUR Euro = 14,868,913.42 USD United States Dollars
Me too. :-))))
These leaders have my prayers! No girly men in that list. God Bless 'em.
Thank you
I'd heard that over 2/3rds of the folks had left already, and that Marines have encircled the place, checking everyone who leaves.
I think the calculation was made that they wanted the IRAQI governing council to make this decision. It is their country, and they have been softening up the area for the last few months trying to convince the regular Iraqis that the fight is not with them, but with the foreign terrorists and the leftover Baathists in their midst.
Housewife,
Be comforted in knowing that not one day goes by that I'm not thankful for the troops that make us safe and free...and that I'm not alone. Apparently 59 million of us feel that way.
I heard Rush say that Chirac couldn't be bothered meeting with Allawi yesterday, but found plenty of time to visit the dying (dead) Arafat.
I'm not sure, but I think I hear some Bee's buzzing off in the distance. :)
Really? Only now???? WHy do I get the feeling we are always a day late, a move behind. COuld you please level it now so I dont have to hear about 1 more Marine being killed while you dittle?
Drop 100 MOABs and get it over. Field test those MOABS!
