Public School grades 1-20

I would like to get a feel on what Freepers think of my idea.

I have been witnessing a shift for school bonds. I have been seeing this as the only way a local school district to get their additional funding. The problem is its an unfair tax burden on those that have bigger higher valued homes. I think its time to realize that the country does want to educate our children.

I want to put education back in the hands of all the citizens of the USA. Not just property owners. Why not just make every income creating citizen pay $500 a year?

Why only have public schools for 1-12 grade. We need all those that want a higher education to have it. Grades 13-20 would be tested and evaluated ever year. When you enter 9th grade you can then choose a education and start learning. The course work you start taking would be pointed. You have till grade 12 to choose. You can become a PhD, Engineer, lawyer…….. You can rejoin these public schools as often as you like as long as your can test to the next grade.

Every school will be equal. There will be no difference between any state, county, districts. All the money that the federal government gets will be allocated based on population in each state.

It’s a time in history we come to realize that public schools are beyond help cause of certain ideals. We need to break the idea that any school should get more money based on need.

College’s as they are now still don’t have it right. There should be a classroom for every member of our society. For with education come greater thinking and prosperity.

Back then they were called, "charity schools" businesses and the wealthy actually built them because it was the right thing to do and good community relations.

Now days we have forced "charity" and most of it goes to those not in need.

Does not every high school grad deserve a colledge education.

No. You would not believe the number of job applicants we get who have a HS diploma and can't read or do basic math. So you want me to pay for them to goof off another eight years?

Dumbest idea of the day but hey, the day is still young.

I think a more immediate concern would be pointless vanities.

This is not fair to those not considered poor.

Oh, you want to talk about what's fair.

Is it fair that people who don't have children or whose children have completed school decades ago are still paying school property taxes? Is it fair that a family with 5 kids crammed into a house pays the same school property taxes as their neighbor who only has two kids? Is it fair to extort money from every property owner in the town/county to pay for school sports teams when only a few dozen kids can participate?

Let each family pay for their own. Help those families which can't via low interest loans (heck, have the loan rate tied to inflation if you'd like). When families are spending their own money costs will come down and quality will go up.

Socialism in education is not the end but the beginning of fair taxation and rebalancing the education field.

Oh Yea, this is gonna go downhill form here. You're gonna get just a little opposition after a stupid statement like this.

Weren't you just bitching about how you're getting unfairly taxed by bonds for schools?! And then you come out for socialistic taxation for them. wow.....
