Emboldened Bush Sets Ambitious Conservative Goals For A 2nd Term (Reagan Revolution II Alert)

To some analysts, Bush has now staked out the goal of completing the conservative revolution that Reagan launched in the 1980 election — and perhaps going further.

Bush sometimes appears "less pragmatic" than Reagan was, the former Reagan administration official said. "Reagan worked in a Democratic-majority era, and had to compromise to get 80% of what he wanted," he said.

Bush holds out for more, he said, and now with stronger Republican majorities in Congress he may succeed more often.

"This goes beyond the Reagan agenda, considerably beyond it," said professor Walter Dean Burnham, a longtime Bush-watcher at the University of Texas in Austin.

Viva Reagan! Viva Bush! Now to my favorite all-time quote that captures neatly the spirit of the next four years:

Bush has now staked out the goal of completing the conservative revolution that Reagan launched in the 1980 election — and perhaps going further.

Translation from Liberalese to English:

"There may be some modest, minimal reforms which we will have to prevent by any means possible" said professor Walter Dean Burnham, a longtime Bush-hater and professional character assassin/liar at the University of Texas in Austin (the only non-chicano blue outpost in that red state).

I voted, I'm here, I'm watching, and I'm praying.

Having read the whole article, and many others, and having NEVER figured there would be a SS safety net when I needed it, and having acted upon that premise, I am now willing to hear how to change SS and IRS. . . Aside from the personal homeland safety issue.

Yes, leftists. Be afraid. Be very, very afraid. Lower taxes, defense of traditional marriage, protecting the unborn, fighting our enemies abroad instead of at home, spreading democracy through the Middle East, social security and tax reform... it's all true!
