The last word on Bushs bulge
Call off the conspiracy freaks. Now it can be told: That mysterious bulge on President Bushs back during the first presidential debate was not an electronic device feeding him answers, but a strap holding his bulletproof vest in place.
Speculation about the bulge on the Internet only increased since Georges de Paris, the Washington tailor who makes Bushs suits, told The Hill last month that it was nothing more than a pucker on the back of Bushs coat caused when he crossed his arms.
But sources in the Secret Service told The Hill that Bush was wearing a bulletproof vest, as he does most of the time when appearing in public. The presidents handlers did not want to admit as much during the campaign, for fear of disclosing information related to his personal security while he was on the campaign trail.
The suspicion that Bush was, indeed, wearing something under his coat was given further credence by Dr. Robert M. Nelson, a senior research scientist for NASA and Caltechs Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and an international authority on image analysis, who conducted tests while working at home on his own computers.
I am willing to stake my scientific reputation to the statement that Bush was wearing something under his jacket during the debate, Nelson told Salon.com. This is not about a bad suit. And theres no way the bulge can be described as a wrinkled shirt.

Screw 'em, tell 'em to shove it.
Tell 'em to take a flying-freak at a rolling donut.
Now let's get back to video of the white paper Kerry clearly removed from his pocket while his back was to the audience, then unfolded and placed on his podium.
"hard work...hard work..."
I hope that President Bush does not think that he no longer needs that vest.
It probably was robust armor with enough Kevlar layers to stop rounds on the order of 10mm.
Ok, THIS is what the "buldge" was. Are the rats happy they know now?
Remember, Kerry had joked about bringing a rifle to the debates. Better safe than sorry.
We had multiple people here on FR (law enforcement) make the correct call regarding the bullet proof vest, within minutes of the DU and other idiots putting forward the obviously "grand" idea that he was wearing a wire. Afterall- he's a Christian, and everybody knows that Christians wear wires when they are on a stage.
and another thing....Why is the SS talking about the president ?
No, No, No. It was a sophisticated electronic communication device, weighing 12 pounds and measuring 12 x 15 inches. Bush was using it to communicate with somebody, maybe Christians or something, not sure. But it was there and all...
looks like a bullet proof vest to me under his clothes.
That is what I thought and said all along.
The picture above is from the second debate and if you know what to look for you can see the outline of the vest's back panel.
We've known this almost from the day it was even brought up. Someone here at FR....said it was his bullet proof vest. He's was highly protected during this campaign; with all the crazy liberal loons/goons out there. Thank God he's protected in this manner. ;o)
