Freeper Canteen: Welcome Home and Thank you Vietnam Vets! 05 Nov. 2004
The Canteen All Stars

Posted on 11/04/2004 7:58:17 PM PST by Diva Betsy Ross

For the freedom you enjoyed yesterday... Thank the Veterans who served in The United States Armed Forces

Looking forward to tomorrow's freedom? Support The United States Armed Forces Today!

CAMP RUN-A-MUCK

So much has been said and written about our Vietnam Veterans and our military men and women over the past few days. The message out there is loud and clear: Americans support our troops! In my opinion the election we won this week for George Bush is indeed a message to our troops; that we trust you, and to our Vietnam Veterans; that we love you and want to make things right again. And to both groups; We do believe in you as much as you believe in us. Still I feel as though there is one thing missing- a proper THANK YOU for all your sacrifices.

I have heard many stories in the past few days that active duty troops would like to see their brothers and sisters from Vietnam finally get the respect which has always been due them.

With that in mind, this thread is dedicated to our troops, both home and away , for our Vietnam vets and for all of their loved ones.

Most of us are sorry it took so long to get our message to you- please know many of us have held this message in our hearts for a very long time:

THANK YOU AND WELCOME HOME!

FEILD TRIP HERE!

Those Americans who went to Vietnam fought for freedom, a truly noble cause. You and your comrades-in-arms who faced danger and death in Vietnam fought as well as any Americans in our nation's history.

Vietnam was not so much a war as it was one long battle in an ongoing war -the war in defense of freedom, which is still under assault. This battle was lost not by those brave American and South Vietnamese troops who were waging it but by political misjudgments and strategic failure at the highest levels of government.

The tragedy- indeed, the immorality-of those years was that for the first time in our history our country and its government failed to match the heroic sacrifice of our men in the field.

This must never happen again.

~Ronald Reagan~

To all those who have worn the uniform of the United States of America I say to you: You are America.

LOL.....Tom I don't think that is a very good choice of song to play right after you posted Clothes Optional Day and Streaking. I'm sure there are a few people who wouldn't mind lighting your fire when you take off streaking through the Canteen.

Well, we're oing to continue to savor in the victory for Bush and Coburn. Also, watching OU and OSU on TV.

The state races in a couple of areas haven't quite been decided. One of the house races ended up in a 32 vote margin. There will be a recount for that on Monday.

Not much else happening.

And ((HUGS)) how's it going for you?
