Freeper Canteen: Welcome Home and Thank you Vietnam Vets! 05 Nov. 2004
The Canteen All Stars

Posted on 11/04/2004 7:58:17 PM PST by Diva Betsy Ross

For the freedom you enjoyed yesterday... Thank the Veterans who served in The United States Armed Forces

Looking forward to tomorrow's freedom? Support The United States Armed Forces Today!

CAMP RUN-A-MUCK

So much has been said and written about our Vietnam Veterans and our military men and women over the past few days. The message out there is loud and clear: Americans support our troops! In my opinion the election we won this week for George Bush is indeed a message to our troops; that we trust you, and to our Vietnam Veterans; that we love you and want to make things right again. And to both groups; We do believe in you as much as you believe in us. Still I feel as though there is one thing missing- a proper THANK YOU for all your sacrifices.

I have heard many stories in the past few days that active duty troops would like to see their brothers and sisters from Vietnam finally get the respect which has always been due them.

With that in mind, this thread is dedicated to our troops, both home and away , for our Vietnam vets and for all of their loved ones.

Most of us are sorry it took so long to get our message to you- please know many of us have held this message in our hearts for a very long time:

THANK YOU AND WELCOME HOME!

FEILD TRIP HERE!

Those Americans who went to Vietnam fought for freedom, a truly noble cause. You and your comrades-in-arms who faced danger and death in Vietnam fought as well as any Americans in our nation's history.

Vietnam was not so much a war as it was one long battle in an ongoing war -the war in defense of freedom, which is still under assault. This battle was lost not by those brave American and South Vietnamese troops who were waging it but by political misjudgments and strategic failure at the highest levels of government.

The tragedy- indeed, the immorality-of those years was that for the first time in our history our country and its government failed to match the heroic sacrifice of our men in the field.

This must never happen again.

~Ronald Reagan~

To all those who have worn the uniform of the United States of America I say to you: You are America.

A good trip to Waffle House is right in order...

If it were the Pancake House I'd feel a lot better about it.

Got the weekend off? If you're expecting a rough day tomorrow, use my mantra: You can always get through Friday. . Otherwise, prayers for a smooth day for you.

The "weekend" officially starts at 1600 Saturday, and runs until 2400 Sunday. Thirty-eight hours of studying for Monday's test.

I placed an order and you could have it sent to a place where they send it out to the troops(No Red Cross involved) - I used another link from the site you listed - Thanks so much for all your help -

Cheers -

Just about the cheapest and best deal around are the 500 minute AT&T cards from the Army and Air Force Exchange Service web site. The specific URL for their program is:

https://thor.aafes.com/scs/default.aspx

You don't need to be an authorized user to purchase them, and they will send the card you purchase to anywhere you want. They'll send overseas to an APO/FPO, or you can enter the address for organizations such as Proud Patriots (see above).

This sad story from a 'blog' I want to get out. A Soldier who has lost both legs and an arm. Can we ping others/spread the word/or start a post? See at link,- You Can Help
[Please read the entire post as more options are developing to help Sergeant Bozik]
http://www.blackfive.net/main/2004/10/you_can_help.html
Sergeant Joseph Bozik, an Airborne Soldier with the 118th MP Company (Airborne) from Ft. Bragg, was recently wounded. He has lost both legs and an arm from a landmine, is not not conscious and has many medical complications. On Monday, Sergeant Bozik will be flown into Walter Reed from Landstuhl (Germany).

Unfortunately, the family doesn't have enough money to maintain themselves in a hotel (let alone buy food) for an extended period.
More from the link above.Patti of Soldiers' Angels set up a link to a paypal donation page - and, since SA is a non-profit, it's tax deductible. http://www.soldiersangels.com/Joseph_Bosik_Fund.asp Spread the word about this chance to help a wounded soldier.

WOW! They have a goodly area to play in. And I see a shelf to sun on. What more could a kitty want? LOL! Are you going to let them play on the grass, under Dad's supervision, of course.
