I tuned into CNN to gloat as Aaron Brown whined and caught the last part of the painful Larry King...he read a statement sent to him by Walter Conkout stating something to the effect, "I deeply regret the joke I made on your show about Karl Rove last week was taken as a serious comment."
"You don't make jokes about the person who murdered nearly 3000 Americans on September 11, 2001."
Amen to that!!! We should both write the old cuss and let him know that, only I don't have his retirement address! Despicable. He meant it.
Walter needs his diaper changed again...
I hate these insulting middle fingers in your face cloaked in an appology. I'm sorry people are sooo stupid they can't tell when I'm joking.
Well wally, if it was a serious remark, it was moronic. If it was a joke it was moronic. Either way you are a moron.
Walt, let's be clear, you doddering old fart:
You were never my "Uncle". Your brain is simply gone.......so fade away.
No Walter, YOU are the joke.
Umm, guess I'm the only one here who didn't happen to hear what the old crap-artist said! Anybody got the "joke" and can recount it?
Soylent green!
I saw LKL, and he was not joking.
Walter is an insane socialist commie
I find it hard to believe that any thinking person has taken seriously any comment Cronkite has made since about 1956.
He said something to the effect that Rove was probably responsible for the last minute Bin Laden video in the campaign.
<<< he deserves to be excoriated for it. >>>
I thought he'd had them removed years ago!!!!
the real joke was that larryking didn't question him about it (or so i heard)
Walter had John Kerry do a poll for him to see how to respond to Red America's fury over Walter's idiotic babble.
Kerry's pollsters came up with the idea of saying it was a joke. Walter bought it. So, they went with that.
Larry King sure didn't laugh at Uncle Walter's "joke", but then again he didn't even question it, he just nodded and moved right on.
Ten years ago, some wag put together a web site called "Walter Cronkite Spit in my Food!", which described an obviously fictional account of a drunken Cronkite swinging from lampposts and assaulting restaurant patrons. Cronkite sued and got the site taken down, ostensibly because people would not understand it was a joke, and would accept the word of an anonymous website--and ignore its disclaimers--rather than trust "the most trusted man in America".
Now that "most trusted man" defames Karl Rove, not by saying that Rove spit into someone's food, but that he conspired with the worst enemy of the United States. And this is supposed to be acceptable, because everyone will automatically take the "most trusted man's" word with a grain of salt, and see that it's a joke!
The hypocritical old bastard.
It ain't for nothing that Cronkite--Krankheit--means "sickness" in German.
You know how it is Walter. Some people just can't tell a joke.
Another old fool that needs to be carted off to the old fools home.
They dig up Uncle Walter from the grave every four years around election time and then he goes back to the grave and sleeps for another four years. Most people think he's already dead anyway (and they're not that far off). Say goodbye Walter.
Stupid is as stupid does.
I wonder which was the Alzheimer induced comment, this one or the last one.
