Managing Teresa. Kerry's wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, presented a host of behind-the-scenes drama for Kerry. Early on, the campaign staff regarded Teresa as something of a hypochondriac, and she canceled three trips in October at the last minute, usually for what was described to aides as a "nonspecific malady." Kerry's first campaign manager, James Jordan, had little patience for her strong opinions, sending emails trashing the candidate's wife...which inevitably reached his rivals within the campaign, including Bob Shrum (an old Teresa friend) and helped seal Jordan's eventual dismissal. Later came Kerry campaign's post-convention "Sea to Shining Sea" tour: a 3,500-mile bus and train trek that was not a happy trip for Teresa. With each passing day she made less effort to hide her displeasure. Audiences were mystified when Teresa turned her back to them at daylight rallies and wore dark sunglasses and a hat at night (backstage, the candidate's wife complained of migraines and sore eyes). As they reached the climax of the tour, an hourlong "family vacation" hike in the Grand Canyon, the planned happy-family- vacation was disintegrating in plain view. Daughter Vanessa didn't enjoy being a prop, Teresa was complaining of migraines and telling her husband she couldn't walk anymore. The candidate tried to bravely soldier on, pulling his sullen wife and children to show them the magnificent condors flying overhead.
I just went looking for Newsweek and Time because I heard both had "juicy" stories about the campaign of Kerry.
But couldn't find either on the shelves, and I checked three places.
When will these magazines be released...anybody know?
The Dems know w/out power, you are nothing. Nothing=expendable...like "get out of the way."
Gore/Loserman...kicked out of the way...now it's "flush the johns." When you're trying to pave the way to Democratic heaven (the White House), anybody standing in Hillary's way needs to be outed from the get-go.
As for Newsweek, I can just imagine them running this as a sidebar had Kerry won...
Okay, okay. You can stop laughing now.
Newsweek is a two-faced suppressor of the truth that only reveals the truth when it serves its real agenda.
Clark Griswold and his dysfunctional family.
Did any one else think that it looked like she was wasted yesterday at Kerry's I'm a loser speech? My husband, who is much nicer than I am, walked by the tv and said, she must be really drunk, her son has to hold her up.
Look, Dear! Big Ben; Parliament!
As more and more of these 'behind the scenes' stories come to light, more and more America will be thankful they didn't elect the Doofus Family to be the First Family.
Haha, I went to the store this morning too when I heard about it on the IMUS program. No dice. Then I just happened to catch Matt Lauer interviewing Evan Thomas and at the end of interview, Matt said it'll be on the newsstand tonight. I planned to get both mags too just for the juicy stuff. I never buy those lib mags but hey, if it's bad stuff for the lunatics, I'm getting it.
Yes. There was a thread on it yesterday.
Also yesterday on Fox and Friends E.D. Hill made a point about the fact that Kerry was standing all alone through out the concession appearance when it is normal for the spouse to be there next to the beaten candidate to show support. I'm sure she was potted and I bet she has been ever since.
And after the speech the press was at their townhouse as they arrived-Kerry hurriedly grabbed Terraazzzz to keep her from talking to the press-no telling WHAT she WOULD HAVE SAID!
I recall reading on a FR thread months ago that Teresa was reluctant to take the name "Kerry," and in fact did not do so (whether legally/officially or not, I don't know) until Kerry began his Presidential campaign. Teresa maintaining her official residence in the Pittsburgh suburb of Fox Chapel may be another sign that she's still obsessed with her late first husband.
Clearly she is not a happy woman.
Priceless.
What would you expect of a woman who was foolish--or desperate--enough to marry a gigolo like Kerry?
It's enough to almost make me feel sorry for Kerry. But then I remember the vile way he treated the Swift Boat Vets, and I stop feeling sorry for him.
I know we hate Teresa but dang, migraines are horrible, living with John has to be unbearable what with his pontificating and saluting all the time, the stepdaughters look like the daughters from Hell,,,I kinda feel sorry for Teresa. And John. Poor things, the WH would have been hell for them.
nah just John can't get elected outside Massachusetts, and Teresa refuses to pay Massachusetts tax rates.
