Evan Thomas on "Imus in the Morning" - "They took Kerry's cell-phone away from him twice."
"Imus in the Morning" program on MSNBC

Evan Thomas was just on "Imus in the Morning" on MSNBC. He's starting to spill his guts on the stuff the MSM hid from the public about John Kerry and his campaign.
First, Thomas admits that Kerry's staff took his cell-phone away from him twice, in order to prevent him from calling hundreds of people to decide what he should think about a particular issue. Imus adds that Kerry called him, Imus, on more than one occasion asking for advice.
This information was apparently not deemed newsworthy before John Kerry might have been elected President of the United States.
Next, Thomas candidly describes Teresa Heinz-Kerry as a self-absorbed hypchondriac. Whenever she spoke to gatherings during the campaign, she was boring and concentrated only on herself. (Of course, we knew that, but what we see is that the MSM was holding back from describing the kind of disaster that even they knew Teresa would have been had she become First Lady.)
More 'revelations' will doubtless follow.

Thanks. But I fear that there's no force on Earth that'll pry Kerry out of that Senate seat (unless he really pisses the Massachusetts voters off by coming out [sic] against gay marriage or something like that!). It's now his only source of honor and attention, both of which he seems to crave above all else.

My Son said the same thing.

Was that when she was wearing that green outfit with the thick scarf? I saw a replay of Kerry's concession speech when they were all on the stage. Teresa definitely lost her balance at least twice during the applause session at the end.
To: newzjunkey
Doris says that during the concession speech she actually saw affection between Kerry and Teresa. Maybe he was just trying to hold her up.

You are exactly right. But the MSM refused to recognize this. At least Fat Boy brings in money. Kerry has never done a thing for his state. Sadly my guess is he will resign and Joe Kennedy (the turd) will replace him.Hard to believe that the state of Paul Revere and the Tea Party eventually decided that they preferred a monarchy after all.

I wonder if he'll be able to withstand the Hillary sneers. I can see her taping "kick me" signs to his back on the floor of the Senate.

Amazing! While every real or imagined GWB gaffe is front page news, we would have been back to "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" secrecy under Kerry.

Kerry is toast...his own party will bury him...a prime example of eating their own. He may not even regain his Massachusetts seat, he will be so permanently painted as a loser/liar...and will fade without a legacy into the shill room of history.
To: samtheman
We MUST continue the fight to get his military records released. No better time to kick Kerry, than when he's down. He got a Dishonorable Discharge, which will proclude him from finishing his Senate term. We MUST!

I'd pay to see that. Uh, well, maybe not pay.

And the record of this election is that both the media AND the Bush campaign went easy on Komrad Kerry. (And that doubly includes FOX News. Except for Hannity.) Obviously, you've never watched Brit Hume.

MSM fumbled again.
They messed up big-time in 2000. They continue to lose viewership. Rather's fake memos.
Even before this election cycle, the network news departments were in trouble.
I think we will see big changes before the next Presidential election. MSM, especially broadcast, won't even exist in its present form. Networks will combine/join with the cable news programs. Networks might not even have world news broadcasts, choosing instead to allow local affiliates to expand and 'read' the world news.
By 2008, the information 'forces' will be cable and Internet. Bloggers in pj's will only be more numerous. In another 4 years, highspeed Internet will probably be as commonplace as colored TVs today. More 'raw news' will circumvent any agencies or networks or groups that try to 'filter' the news.

I understand they are in the tank for Kerry but the fact that this guy couldn't make a decision without talking to Imus is really scary.Explains why ego-maniac Imus was in the tank for Kerry.
With regulars like Barnicle, Biden amd Kearns Goodwin, Imus is nearly all-plagiarist radio.

"My mother insisted Teresa looked intoxicated when she left her Beacon Hill mansion with Kerry for the concession statement."
I was watching and following the FR live thread. I posted that she looked sedated.

My mother insisted Teresa looked intoxicated when she left her Beacon Hill mansion with Kerry for the concession statement.
I made the comment in the live thread that she looked like "the morning after the night before." She appeared razzled, out of sorts. [But she has appeared that way in several appearances during the campaign--the the media showed--which they didn't always--keeping T off the TV screens--for her own benefit.]

Praise God for saving us from what would have been this horrible nightmare of a man....and his nutbag wife.

You'd think, especially after getting caught spiking the Lweinsky story, that Newsweek would learn. Apparently not. And for Thomas to brag in public about what they covered up for Kerry...This goes beyond cluelessness. It's incredibly hubristic.

when confronted with it he blames his staff.
This reminds me of an old story about the new MIS manager who comes in on his first day and finds three envelopes in his desk drawer marked "Open only in case of dire emergency." A few weeks later the system crashes and no one can figure out how to get it back up. Finally he remembers the three envelopes and thinks, what the heck, and opens the first one which reads "BLAME YOUR PREDECESSOR." He does so, eventually the system comes up, and things go normally for a few months, but then suddenly all the accounts come up out of balance after the end-of-the-month run and he has to open the second envelope which reads simply "BLAME YOUR STAFF" which he does and eventually its straightened out and they go on. But a while later the whole operation melts down and he opens the third envelope and all it says is "TAKE THREE ENVELOPES AND..."

IMUS's kid's ranch is also funded somewhat by Teresa's money.
