Right click the picture of the president and wife, goto properties, look at the file name:
It may not last long.
Thanks for the ping!
No, NOT 'good work' FReepers (some FReepers anyway). Anyone who complained to CNN about this is an idiot. The idea was to get Drudge or Hannity or whoever to go verify it for themselves - they can't rely on FReeper screenshots to report on it. Now that people complained to CNN the evidence is gone.
Screenshots and mirrored copies aren't going to help - I can download an entire site and rename pictures at will - that's not evidence.
NO MORE A TWINKIE THAN YOU ARE A *DAY LATE AND A DOLLAR
SHORT*, BUT I DO BELIEVE WE CAN'T AFFORD TO GO OFF HALF
COCKED AND GET ON AN APOPLECTIC CRUSADE TO POINT OUT EVERY
*****PETTY****** LITTLE JUVENILE LIBERAL ANTIC! If we did
that, we would become - - - very tired, very tired indeed.
"ohhhh, they're soooooooo clever..."
Yeah, not bad for a computer literate 7th grader:-)
Hubby reached out and touched them by phone.
The guy he spoke with fell over himself apologizing and vowed to find the perp who did it.
We'll see...:))
It's no "setup".
The people there admitted to it having happened and apologized profusely.
Any word on what has become of this?
Drudge
All I know for sure is that they've changed the file and the file on the server is gone.
Hopefully, somebody got chewed out, at least.
Drudge is so SLOW...and the worldnet daily article he is linking to won't load. One time it get a message saying page cannot be displayed. Another time I get a blank page. And another time I cannot even connect to the server.
Very strange.
FR is running like a dream so I know it is not on my end.
I can't ever find my way around Drudge's site to begin with...LOL!
So nothing is coming from this then?
Maybe. Maybe not. It's easy for someone to photoshop
things and bait people. In any event, this is petty
bickering and a petty matter. Re: Everyone who allegedly
saw this lying? Maybe. Maybe not.
Nice catch!
There is a difference between someone claiming something and offering an image to prove it (which is what we've done in this thread) - and being able to go to the site and see it for yourself.
For this to have been a 'trap' of some sort, someone would have had to (a) hack into CNN's web site, (b) rename the file and (c) alter the site's source code to include the renamed file. I assure you that nobody is hacking into CNN's web site.
Our claims were NOT based on our having seen a screenshot (as we have provided above) that could clearly be altered. We saw the original page for ourselves. Many of us are professional geeks and know the difference.
