So I got home today, wanting to toast our illustrious President and his smashing re-election. Didn't get to last night.
Started with a bottle of Iron Horse bubbly, from Sonoma County. Wife happy to celebrate with me but not much of a drinker. Drank 5/6ths of the bottle myself.
Beloved wife has roasted chicken stuffed with wild rice and wrapped in bacon, with a raspberrry/chipotle sauce, waiting for me. Decided the fruit called for a Pinot Noir.
In honor of our good friends the Aussies, opened up a Yarra Yering Pinot from 1999. Lovely cherry bouquet, a little more smoke and wood and tannins on the palate than I expected from a Pinot. That's OK, it stands up to the chipotle peppers.
Again the dear wife does not hold up her end, and I have cheerfully polished off 3/4 of the bottle myself. Bottle now empty. Considering a glass of tawny port or a Vin Santo before toddling off to bed.
I am in a VERY good mood and glad I am not on duty tomorrow.
So how are YOU celebrating this outstanding, crushing victory?
A sixer of Pete's WICKED Ale in honor of the failed Senator from the WICKED state of MA.
And I'm not joking.
Post the recipes.
Water.
I'm at work.
;-)
I've no idea what I was drinking last night, but it was dead vicious this morning!
Sheesh. I have no idea, I just eat what's put in front of me. I'll see if she can oblige.

A little Chardonnay from the Columbia Valley
Beer.
Lots of it. :)
Last night, however, I had a couple of lovely shots of Knob Creek Kentucky Bourbon.
To calm the nerves, you understand ... and it worked well.
orange soda
Mostly, i was messing with you.
DON'T bother your wife.
Enjoying my traditional nightly glass of port....Sandeman's Founder's Reserve by preference.
Ahh...tonight my friend....I drink only the sweet nectar of VICTORY........
Except its the O.P. not the regular. Friend of mine in Australia mailed it to me. Come on over.
A nice Barboursville Cabernet Franc that I picked up in Virginia last weekend. A good American Red State wine! I might have a shot of Buffalo Trace bourbon from Red State Kentucky before bed.
It's weed, wine, and sangria for me, definitely celebrating the victory in my own libertarian yet registered and enthusiastic Republican way. I got an hour of sleep last night, went to work, and now I'm finally able to party and celebrate. Kerry is a traitor and a bum!
It feels like Christmas, don't it.
Talisker Single Malt. Nice way to start the second four years...
ROTFLMAO!!!!
You're gonna be sound asleep before you ever get to eat that yummy meal!
