Had Kerry Challenged Ohio--Would DNC Fraud Have Been Exposed?
Free Republic ^ | 3 November 2004 | me

Many of us have been mystified and delighted by Sen. John Kerry's early election concession. A point that was first addressed here on Free Republic by "Bloody Sam Roberts" in This Thread was this:

"You are all whining about how Kerry betrayed you all by not counting ALL of the ballots in Ohio. Here's another news flash for you. He didn't dare. If additional scrutiny was placed on all of those provisional ballots, many of them would have been exposed as fraudulent. Further more, it is likely that the fraud could be traced back to DNC operatives and there would have been charges filed. "

This charge has merit. Kerry could not affort the scrutiny.

Put lipstick on a pig, and at the end of the day, it's still a pig.

There is another point that I think nobody is talking about regarding why Kerry did not want to wait this one out:

They would focus not only on the count of the provisional ballots, but on the count of the MILITARY ABSENTEE ballots. And those are going to come back 70-30 Bush. So the last thing the public would remember about a count that Kerry was going to get killed by was that it showed how much the military hated him. Not his idea of a great "last impression."

I think this is why he conceded early.

Yes. I direct you to this thread on Lake County, OH, election results. 75% turnout.

Voinovich and LaTourette easily won - Bush got it in a squeaker. Not possible.

Flash.....Provisionals are scrutinized by law in any case. Voter fraud will be found in Ohio and elsewhere. Have a nice day cheaters.

Yes, but--I think you are looking in the wrong places. The real problems were in Milwaukee and Philadelphia. Philadelphia, to quote "Ghostbusters" was biblical... the dead rose from their graves and voted. Look at the county-by-county tallies on cnn.com for PA.

but on the count of the MILITARY ABSENTEE ballots.

They would have lost those too---but the media hates reporting this.

This is semi plausible because it really does seem as if their entire strategy was based on the election coming down to Ohio, having Ohio flooded w/provisional ballots (and lawyers), and somehow eking it out that way. I mean they seemed to *know* Ohio would be close *and* that they could plausibly say "don't call it yet" based on the provisionals.

But....

These ballots are going to be counted anyway. It's not like they're going to be ignored. So if there was a massive fraud effort it will come out either way. Kerry conceding didn't change that. Yes it prevented the nation from having Ohio in a spotlight. But if there's a huge vote-fraud buried in the provisionals, I'd think it'd come out into the spotlight *anyway*.

My take: I'm sure at least some of these are "fishy" (college students driving from precinct to precinct voting 20 times, dual-residence voters voting a second time, etc.) but I doubt the count will reveal anything that can be characterized as a massive coordinated fraud.

Looks like touch screen voting screened out a lot of the fraud in maimi-dade. They even have a pub mayor.

We need to get touch screens in philly, cleveland, Nyc, detroit etc.

I saw on Fox that the Republicans are persuing the lawsuits and even tho the Rats quit, the litigation over the provisional ballots will continue. We'll see if there was fraud mixed in or dirty tricks aimed ar Pubbies.

I hope the provisional concept is deep sixed by the judgement

The provisional ballots are going to be opened anyhow. I think Kerry just knew that he wasn't going to overcome a 140,000 Bush lead. In fact, Bush would probably even incease his lead.

The GOP had the evidence. That's why they called the Kerry people and gave them the 2 pm deadline to concede. The Democrats were caught with their pants down!

The law must be followed, must it not, even if one party "concedes." The Absentee ballots over the next 10 days will be validated and counted. The provisinal ballots will also be validated and counted. One way or another we will know what the final vote will be.

Or am I missing something here?

Good!

Here is a note to the GOP Controlled House, the GOP Controlled Senate, and the GOP Controlled White House:

Make Voter Fraud a Class One Felony
