So, I was just over in DUmmieLand to see if their "Forum Lurker Ban" has been lifted. It's not, but on their front page they had this to say... I ended up ROFLMAO!!! :) enjoy...

This is a pretty diverse group of people, and it's clear that people are going to deal with this election defeat in different ways. Some members are going to come to DU looking for a shoulder to cry on. Others are going to come here looking for a fight. Still others may have completely different feelings entirely. We believe that it is understandible and healthy for people to feel angry or sad or whatever. We do not think it is possible for us to force people to deny their feelings right now, and we're not even going to try (except in the most extreme cases). However, it is clear that certain types of emotions do no mix well on a busy message board like this one. We have decided that the only feasible solution is to enforce a segregation between the people who want a shoulder to cry on, and the people who want an ass to kick.
With this in mind, the two General Discussion forums have been re-named. The "General Discussion: Help and Support" forum is for those people who are looking for help and support. If you feel sad, or if you are the type of person who thinks that we're all in this together, then that is the forum for you. But if you are feeling very angry about the election, or if you are feeling like pointing fingers and placing blame, you should post in the other GD forum, the "General Discussion: Fighting and Acrimony" forum.
We know that it is not possible to make everyone happy, but we hope that this rough split will provide people with a choice so you can decide what type of message board experience that you need right now. All you have to do is decide which forum to post your topic in. I think everyone here is capable of making that choice.

I had to send BigHead Ed an e-mail today - listened to his show on the way home. He was on about what to do to fix the problem, why can't the 'Rats win an election, etc. Some female caller bitching that the 'Rat party had been unfairly portrayed as a party with no morals...we have to fight back....play dirty just like them!"
I suggested to Ed that while Liberals and liberal Democrats might have thought that it was ok for Bill Clinton to get oral sex in the Oval, maybe a lot of America did not. When Al Gore said, "no controlling legal authority", maybe a lot of America did not agree.

GWB won by a large and decisive majority, Ed. Maybe, just maybe, America is telling the Democratic Party that they don't like what the party has to offer. Is the party listening, Ed?

After all the name-calling, lying, acrimoney, disrespect, ridicule and put-downs we (and the president) have had to put up with from those people, just since the start of this election cycle (much less since 2000), I think we deserve to gloat for a few days! Please don't read it if it offends you.
When a candidate for President of the United States has made the general statement that American soldiers RAPED, CUT OFF EARS, CUT OFF HEADS, TAPED WIRES FROM PORTABLE TELEPHONES TO HUMAN GENITALS AND TURNED UP THE POWER, CUT OFF LIMBS, BLEW UP BODIES, RANDOMLY SHOT AT CIVILIANS, RAZED VILLAGES IN FASHION REMINISCENT OF GHENGIS KHAN, SHOT CATTLE AND DOGS FOR FUN, POISONED FOOD STOCKS, AND GENERALLY RAVAGED THE COUNTRYSIDE OF SOUTH VIETNAM, and receives only a single vote in the election I cannot show the least amount of compassion for the bastard casting that vote.
Kerry never apologized for that statement.

We all can use powerful words from behind the safety and anonymity of keyboards, and we may disagree among ourselves but disputes are usually carried on in civil tones. Dip into the black pool of DU a few times and you will be using bleach to clean your feet.
You are right, everyone should check out DU. DU scares the hell out me. Not the swearing, or the threats to the Presidents life (no kidding, I've forwarded a couple to the FBI, they will regret their stupidity) but the complete barbarism and anger. They turn on each other like wounded, vicious animals on such terribly important things like Kerry going goose hunting (there are some DU hunters, who are luckily armed after the things the vegans were saying to them). They are a scarey, scarey vulgar group. I pity the democrats for claiming them as their own. Log on, and you will see.....

Hey, first timer, gloating here dos not cause, nor does it hurt the deep division that has been foisted on us by the Dims in their actions, words and deeds over the last 4 years.
Dim political power is based on a divided America. They seek to divide us in any way that they think will give them power over perceived special interest groups of voters: race, sex, gay rights, abortion, beneficiaries of tax cuts, business vs labor - I could go on and on.
They have been treating us the same way for years and don't feel the slightest bit of guilt about it.
Think back to Clinton's re-election in '96, and tell me a few stories about gloating.
Meanwhile relax and please indulge yourself in feeling sorry for them. After all Liberalism is a mental disease.
And don't fall in for that "US is a schoolyard bully" crap either. You don't even belong here if you subscribe to that idea. Think Man.
